British Rail class 47 No. 47627 City of Oxford reverses past the old North Road East signal box into Plymouth station on September 13, 1985. The road appears set for the 47 to enter the Park Sidings, so City of Oxford will probably wait there to replace the locomotive on an arriving 'up' service.

Note that the nameplate is fixed higher up on the bodywork on these later named class 47s, unlike the original 1960s 'namers' which had appeared in two-tone green.
