Is it a Red Kite?
That is a nice shot. It would look really good if the background was of a mountainous valley, with a river aswell. Unfortunately, there aren't too many places like that, around here, as you know.

Cheers for the link. Looks good. I'll check it later.
I'm reminded of something that happened to me 18 yrs ago.
I was sleeping in the car, on Dartmoor and when I awoke, I was in a small Zoo's car park. So I went in for a look. I was having a cup of tea and a keeper came in with a box. I used the excuse of another tea, to get closer. In the box was a Jaguar cub. After persistance, they let me have a quick stroke. Well worth it.
But, I side track. The main story was that they also had a Falconry display. I went to this, sat down on a bench to watch, camera primed and it started. A Buzzard came out and was put on a perch. I had it in the lens, clicking away. It was just staring at me, rather menacingly. I started to get a little worried. It raised its wings and flew straight toward me, getting very close. It was going for me, or so I thought. Then just as it got about two feet in front of me, it landed by my feet. I was still clicking away, of course, lol. It turned out that it had spied a vole or mouse by my feet. Unfortunately all the shots came out a bit too blurred to use. I may put them in the scraps at some point.
All in all though, it was a fantastic breakfast visit. It was only chance that I parked there over night. I just pulled into the first place I could sleep without being disturbed. It wasn't lit and I didn't see any signs until I woke up.
