Description
This is another recent photo from someone's phone of a now VERY old Star Trek USS Enterprise model kit I built MANY years ago, completed as the USS Yorktown using Franz Joseph's Starfleet Technical Manual registry NCC-1704. The old releases of this kit made the sensor domes out of clear green plastic, which I think looks really cool against the grey paint of the hull; white sensor domes are boring!
The model kit itself got severely damaged during a move when the case it was in got dropped. The whole engineering hull split along its construction seam, and some other seams and attachement points popped as well. They had been sanded/hidden pretty well prior to that! (The blurriness/double image from the phone camera makes it look even worse!) Mending and repainting are in order.
EDITED TO ADD: I'd never actually finished painting this, as evidenced by the lack of windows, no 'weathering' and some missing details. I was also going to try to make a blended banding effect for the plain orange nacelle caps.
