To be honest, I'm a cat person...BUT Ruger has definitely changed my whole view on dogs. He's amazing.

Cats... lol... just joking! Actually I like cats a lot... I love all animals... But could never have one as a pet... For one thing, I'll always have big dogs, and that makes a cat almost an impossibility... For another, I love the affection and companionship from dogs & you just don't get that from cats... But you've got to love their cool, detached, 'I'm above all these things!' attitude!

It all depends on the cat's personality. My cat is very much a companion and our prior indoor cat was much the same. If you show them affection, they do come looking for it, much like dogs.

In fact, we call our cat Sneeps a little puppy because he comes out and peruses under the dinner table while we eat supper.

He and Ruger get along really well too. They play together actually, and when it gets too much Sneeps lets him know by batting his nose (Sneeps is fully declawed so it's pretty cute to watch.) It's all in training. Although some breeds I'm sure are specifically a no no with small animals and children...

I've only ever been around one cat very much... I had a roommate for about a year who had a cat... His favorite game was to sit on her bathroom counter and wait for her to walk in & then knock something breakable off the shelf... That and spraying the vet every time he had to get a checkup! He was a real character, but you couldn't help but love him for it!

Nash (my corgi) and Tanner (her cat) grew up together and loved to play too... They were so funny! Until she got Tanner de-clawed, Nash would always end up with a scratched up nose, but he never seemed to mind!
