Although Heather has taken a liking to being restrained, she forgot that Gobby McSpooder is technically an employee here and he doesn't work for free. So when she convinced him to bind just her arms and then didn't follow up with any cheese, Gobby decided to teach her a lesson and finish the job as only an arachnid would. Since it's pretty hard to tell when Heather is enjoying bondage or actually wanting released, it could be a while before she gets someone to unwrap her. Perhaps Gobby knows that, but then again he mostly thinks with his stomach.Related content

I don't know exactly how restrictive the webbing is, but Gobby's usually not the sort of spooder to leave a job unfinished, even if the extra wrapping isn't necessary. Plus Ariados's PokeDex entry from Emerald says it constricts its targets with its webbing, so perhaps just being wrapped puts the squeeze on its victims even if it doesn't bind limbs together.
