*edit: crappy title, i know, but i like it! note the red cloth acting as his tailStarted out with a doodle, then turned into full-blown CG. going with KH series' Cloud and his emo darkness and all... i wanted to draw him in a more... sinister light, portraying his attachment to his 'darkness' (quote cuz i dont see no evil in cloud really). the theme of fire is supposed to compare him to sephiroth in the popular shot of him walking amongst fire. the difference here is; though engulfed flames and darkness, there is light.
i love doing pictures with dramatic lighting like this one, allows me to use a lot of contrast and try chiaroscuro here and there. its a shame indeed i didnt think more about the composition... as my friend pointed out later. shouldve at least make it wallpaper-compatible...

the way it's angled it's supposed to slant into the picture, forshortening it a bit. i shouldve made it more clear but i didnt work much on the sword

Wow, a painted picture! There is so much detail! The definition in the muscles makes him look very real and adds movement. I really like the lighting effects too. This was a great idea for the an image. I never quite understood why they said Cloud was evil in KH and then it was just because he was working for someone who was.
