Yes I like the whole picture thing it caught my attention and I like your way of making your statement but "fighting for peace is like" 'spreading a disease to find a cure' cause the term 'fucking for virginity' makes it sound like you are grasping in your desperation for attention and is unintelligent. Besides no one 'fucks' to gain 'virginity'.. Please! Yes I like the whole picture thing it caught my attention and I like your way of making your statement !
Previous wars have kept the balance in our economy and our freedoms. America is a country that strives for the future and third world countries need to catch up. Japan did a good job at catching up and going with the flow, Iraq should too.
Yes America the Sentinel (police) but if not us then who? Do ghettos need cops?
Do I hate war? Yes... as much as I hate the cause of it. Religion, money, power, prejudice, etc etc.
But radicals we have too much of even in America namely prejudice/religious.
we don't need more from the outside.
Are we under attack? Was 9-11 not enough to get your blood boiling? OH you weren't anywhere near that site and it doesn't affect you? Well what if your loved one had been a casualty then what would have been your point of view? An eye for an eye I say and if your brother get's in my way to defend you, well then his eye will do till I get to you!
Do I like fairness? Do you? I do!
If you were in Bush's place what would you do? After having to go see Ground Zero? What do you think your advisors would recommend you do?
Maybe 50% of you would say war the other 50% would opt for a peacefull solution but what about your advisors 50%-100% Just 50 to the right of war and... well do the math.
Japan did all right after that good old fashion spanking maybe Iraq will too!

Sorry man, but i don't see any sense in what you're saying. War is evil and wrong, but at times there is no other choice. We destroy the psychos set on destroying everybody else. Sure, more psychos will be born, so we destroy them. flawed? Yes, but do you have any better ideas? Running around hugging trees will not help this time :-/

Sitting in a centrally heated room knowing where that you will have another meal on time ... free education... surely all you cannot even begin to imagine wht those "innocents" go thru living there lives in underdeveloped third world countires, just cuz some ppl think saddam "might" attack... that is rather lame... its the oil he wants, and believe me iv studied this in detail... but do u seriously think its the right way to go about ... does a mother or a teacher kill a child they think might go evil... no one can order another country wht to do. that too a muslim nation its a soverignity thing if you guys forget... i absolutely hate sadam but im no big fan o mr.bush either... open ur eyes you guys cuz if you wont stop it this time it will get worse ... who'll b next?
its a power game ur politicians are playing and its about time you guys got it thru ur thick brains ... or as you say urself wht goes around comes around.
im not an american so i have no right to decide whtever the outcome... but being a muslim i do pray 5 times a day, praying fer ppl i dont know even the astrunauts who died yesterday... Dont do it! u'll all realize, or ur generations to come it was not worth it at all.
As fer the artpiece.... its ok i guess

It is great to see so many of the deviant friends support the anti war statement here. But I see a repeating theme of "too bad we can't change anything". Here is the big surprise: We can change things - please read on ..
Being anti war people, we certainly will not take up guns and try to force things our way. But what is the weapon of choice for us? It is spreading the word and educating the rest of the public. If Bush finds out some day that 90% of US population are against war, he would not start it. Or if he has started a war, he will try to find a graceful way out and end it.
So we can all make a difference and Matt by posting this and every one by supporting it, is making a difference. Even if we can't prevent this war, it is our duty to express our opinion against it. Maybe we can prevent the next one, or shorten this one. Real peace loving people have no weapon but their intellect and determination. Let's use them.
Thanks Matt for posting this. Fav +

I support the message, but there's a few things about it that just really irk me:
1. You spelled Gandhi's name incorrectly;
2. "Fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity" is such a clichΓ©d phrase. Maybe finding something -original- would help you better get your message out.
Other than that, nice work.

I like the message. It's would be a great utopia. However, in the present reality, the message is a bit naive. Some things are worth fighting for. Even Peace. The alternatives can be worse than death.

etherealsilence - "you're comparing the united states, a democratic republic that would never use WMD's in todays times unless World War 3 was upon us".... Wasnt GWB who said that he would go nuclear on this issue???? Wasnt it GWB who decided the democratic thing to do in the last US election was to NOT wait for a proper count that would have another man in his post..... democratic? peaceloving? WAKE UP!!!
Thanks for raising the thoughts Matt, lets pray to our gods for peace and ask our politicians not to fight in our gods names.... even if the god is oil.

i like it.... i here a lot of things like "this is not an protest side" or preventive action and something like we have to disarm sadam, and it sounds like an gΓΆbbles thing...
oh man the whole eye of the world is on the irak, what is with north korea, kolumbien, iran, and yet afganistan, and all in the name against terror,
thats an instrument of politics that legitimate that all presitent or dictator can take what they want to do...
cavez can also says the opposition of venezella is in the hand of terroristikal fraction ....
ok ...i dont like this war, no war.... its no solution thats for this people a new kind of terror, terror is modern , and for big strong nations is terror not controllable... its for me an kind of
moder gerillia tactic...
and finally art is an mirror for the world its not an protest its the last chance, an help, an motor ,its the best thing..... and some times a better help as diplomaty

To whoever said that Iraq is run by a dictator and that America is democratic:
Wake up.
Look at it properly. Bush got voted in by some phoney election, and if America was actually "democratic" Bush wouldn't even be president.
And if tyrants scare you, how's this? What sort of monster would go against the UN and attack a country without its approval? Oh my oh my..
America is run by a dictator. Wake. Up.

Cool.
I'm just wondering where all you people were when this [link] happened.
Oh, well. Better late than never. I s'pose.
No +Fav cause I don't think it's original, and the line "Fighting For Peace..." etc...is a bit old in my book - but still, great message - and that's what matters.
I just wish it were a little more angry and a bit less resigned.

i agree with v3fusion.. at the end of the day u cant do nuthin... and also sadam wont listen.... and the only way we can actualy stop him is to use violence cos he wot listen... i dont think bush or blair want any of this like most of the ppl but thats the way it is...

It is not for us to decide anyway. How do you know your choice is right? No one can see all ends. And even if we want it to stop, who will listen? There have been anti-war protests already. This is an art site...this is more like a protest submission.

Violence is a language and we can use it ... but Sometime we can speak, sometime it's better to shut up. In the case of Irak, i am not sure of the reel motivation of Us Government, but surely this is not a war for freedom and maybe it's time to shut up!
So Mr Bush Can put your mouth in stand by ... You make to much noise, I can't hear the other voice. Thanx Speak when it's your turn.
