If anyone has discovered the secret to making Raichus not look fat, feel to tell me because I am clueless.
I've also decided to not to draw black eyes for the chu line anymore, because really, they're super creepy.

Make Raichu less fat-looking? It's hard because it's naturally pear-shaped. Not much you can do about that. The only time it doesnt look fat is when it's drawn in a moving pose.

I think to make its design work, Raichu's tummy needs to be a little round. (Trust me, I've experimented for years!) You could tuck his stomach like a dog/cat (upward curve near back legs), but his legs still need to be big, so he'd still look chubby.
But I still love this, and I'll always love Raichu!

I think his HG/SS sprite is one of the worst. He's all, "Give me a hug!" But his face makes you not want to.

Yeah I was a not comfortable drawing the black eyes. Some people can pull it off pretty well and make it look cute, but whenever I try they just look creepy and alien-like.
