Description ...(red)ical solution...

I thought, the best way to test out my new Sony 828 is a macro-shot, so here it is...

This was a pretty damn difficult thing to do. Especially the blood-part. I'm sorry it wound be too difficult to explain the whole thing, so i don't.. I'm just going to write down all the things I used to master this shot.

Technical Informations
two glasses
several pieces of paper
fake blood
butter (jep )
syringe
about 3h of my valuable time...

edited in Photoshop

Since I attempted this on my own, without butter, I'm curious what you used the butter for. My guess would be to keep the dye from soaking into the paper, but you could also just use plastic for that. Looking back on it, I had a lot of fun doing that setup and I'd love to try and improve on it.

Just so you know and someone doesn't bring it up to you as art theft (even though I gave you credit), I just uploaded a photo inspired by this, here:
[link]

I hope you don't mind - your art has always been fun to explore and I finally had an opportunity to test out stills. Don't worry, yours is better anyway... I don't quite have the experience yet. x)

The blood doesn't quite look bloody enough. Like, there's water in it, or it's really some kind of red fruit juice. But, I still like this picture a lot. Killer job.

wow great shot im trying to buy the prnit but my card is being stupid atm... just wondering have u tried ne thign like this using rubber glass or sugar glass or ne type of fake glass, i was thinking it might creats a better effect of the blood on the surface of the glass i might have to go try this, if only rubber glass wasnt so expensive here, and such a hassle
