I drew this a week ago when I couldn't think of anything to draw. So I drew my take on what the Locust Queen from Gears of War would look like. This week Gears of War 2 was officially announced so that reminded me to post this. At this point obviously we still don't know what the Locust Queen looks like and may not until part three... or possibly never. So this is just my take on her.

I took a few things into consideration. First, she sounds like a mean ol' bitch, very mature and very stern. I didn't want her to be like an insect queen where shes some huge beast because she sounds more human than the male locust. This is why I gave her lips. She speaks quite clearly while the male locust all have a bit of a gargle to their speech. I took some elements from the Theron Guards and Raam's outfit like the collar piece but made it look a bit more like jewelry. I drew the Locust symbol into her dress in several places and also thought the horned headpiece served both as an obvious crown of royality and reinforced her "badassness". Lastly I thought this pose showed authority and confidence.

If I get around to it I may do a colored digital version. This is obviously just pencil on paper, scanned in, and digitally darkened. I left the throne out both because I hadn't thought too much on it, and also because thats not what I'm conceptualizing here. Just the queen herself
