Description

So this time I decided to share a little character sheet I did of my old (sadly wiped out by the updates added to the game more recently) Hylotl character Hiroka. She was essentially my first 'endgame' character, as I got her fully kitted out, and typically ran around in a mixture of "Fire Lord" as well as some of the "Dark Disguise" set (complete with the Dark Cape piece) as the cosmetic look of what was actually her top tier armor set. For those who don't know; Starbound is a game like Terraria, except its a Scifi setting where you hop between Planets and Space Stations, building colonies, mining, farming and meeting all sorts of alien races while you either pursue the game's long plotline, or just play through the galaxy like its a sandbox. Though I have played this game off and on over the years as a vanilla experience (totally unmodded, minus things that make the hunger meter more realistic), last year I started to try out the "Frackin Universe" Mod, as I'd heard and seen many great things about it. I may get back into that again soon as I love the mix of the scifi colony/space wandering builder-gatherer and the scifi adventure tropes it carries out with a more light-hearted, 'silly' tone. Aaaaaaaaaaanyways, Hiroka here is a Hylotl, who are essentially "Axlotl People", with a multitude of Fish themes, though Culturally they are heavily modeled off of various Asian Cultures, specifically in Architecture, Clothing, Names and Media references, as you might be able to tell. The Hylotl in-game have Undersea Cities, complete with "Sky" Scrapers on the Sea Floor, as well as occasional Towns and Castles usually on Beach Biome areas of Ocean Worlds, as they like the wetter Planets obviously.

EDIT: Derp, I forgot to mention that I long wanted to see what Hiroka would look like in her "Casual" Clothes, so I designed this dress for her.

Hiroka herself I played as a sort of snarky, but friendly sociable Ship Captain Character, whose Crew had a few key notable members; Blaggy, the crazy but hilarious Penguin Merc Shotgun Berserker, Claggy, the 'straight man' rambo headband-wearing Penguin Sniper and foil to the prior Penguin, Stacy the Blonde Human Female Ship's Medic and onboard Crew Policer, Rosa the Classy Floran Female Botanist and chef, Bruno, the Male Apex Armory Chief, Shroom, the Male Agaran Bodyguard of many words but few conversations, and Dan, the Default Human Male Inventory Chief and wielder of the Default Cube. I've actually been contemplating writing stories here on DA, based on what I got up to with Hiroka and her Crew (not all mentioned here actually), which I might still do in the future if I get back into playing Starbound again.

Starbound belongs to Chucklefish Games.

Hope you like! Let me know what you think! Likely more of this Starbound stuff to come in the future at least as an homage to this game I used to love playing.
