I think that one that is closest is a predecessor to the General Motors J-cars of the early to late eighties. It matches the station wagon versions, and looks very similar to the ones my parent's owned. (3 of them).
Good Pic.

Pontiac Safari wagons from 1978!!! These were the FIRST downsized models, based on the 'A' and 'B' - Bodies. Midsized models (LeMans, etc.) from 1977 - back were on the B-Body chassis, and the full sized (Bonneville, etc.) ones were on the 'C' - Body chassis. The LeMans Safari (white with fake bark) and the Bonneville Safari (goldenrod with fake bark)! Actually very sweet rides that had ACTUAL Pontiac v8s!!! (301v8 in the LeMans, 400v8 in the Bonnie)!!! Last of the 400v8 species was the next year, 1979. They sure were decently built vehicles! Your gallery is like time-travel, without the pesky hallucinogenic flashbacks!!!

Some of them actually looked pretty good! Most of them rode very well, at least near the quality the Cadillacs of old were touted for. Sort of miss seeing them roam the interstates!!! I like wagons better than minivans!!! Wagons were built to haul... some of 'em even hauled @$$!!!!

I find "woody" wagons of the 70's to be very nostalgic. And my Dad was close to buying a Parissienne (sp?) sedan once too.

Hopefully I'll be able to own a big American boat eventually too. Most likely a Caddy or a Lincoln.
