So let's talk about the Collector.

They're an interesting character all right. And we're not so sure anymore about whether or not they're acrually a villain. The episode made them seem far less threatening than they were back when they were imprisoned but it also made them far more interesting of a character. Don't get me wrong, the whole playing-pretend-with-human-puppets thing is still pretty messed up, but for all that power and reality bending, they really are still just a child at heart. There is no malicious intent here.
For the Future gaves a lot of info about the Collector, and in true Owl House fashion it did so without actually explaining it. This show has mastered the art of "show, don't tell". Paintings in the background and the text from the book that King read suggests that Collectors are actually a kind of space race with incredible power that started a conflict with the Titans when it turned out their magic could get countered by Titan magic. Makes you wonder what happened to the other Collectors...
And if the one we know actually needed to be imprisoned.
Were they actually dangerous?
Did they just want to play with the Titan children and King's dad locked them away thinking they were a threat?
Did the Titans destroy all the other ones?
Is this one the last of the Collectors?
It puts the whole situation into perspective, doesn't it?

It does look like the Collector could be persuaded to stop being chaotic evil in exchange for people actually wanting to hang out and be friends with them. But now with Belos, doing his worst Rain Whispers impression, whispering lies in his ear, it looks like we're gonna see what a pissed of Collector at full power is capable of.
