You clearly ignore the context of being a "obsessive nerd". I deprive myself of sleep the whole night for porn, so hers is a healthier obsession.

Sleep depervation = severely weakened cognition, retention, and competency = wasted time because the content isn't fully remembered or understood, and impaired health where there previously was none
Sleep depervation ruins EVERYthing
Unless twilight was enjoying an emotional high (of which she wasn't) to negate the effects of ruined cognition, the time is not only wasted, but poorly spent as the severe sleep lapse will not only make any attempts to stay on schedule highly painful, but the entire experiance before her body recovers becomes much more less enjoyable, even time with friends...
And this is even assuming that she can recover her healthy functionality from before 48 hours of no-sleep...

... you totally know nothing about Twilight Sparkle, right? She LOVES doing things for Celestia, so I think she might totally nail it down. Also, she had been without sleep before (In "It's About Time", right before her sneaking into the Canterlot Library, she got sleep deprived by he "Monitor EVERYTHING" phase) and she recovered quite fine. She can stand that, she's stronger than she appears (Rainbow Dash broke a wing in "Read it and Weep" and went to the hospital, Twilight Broke got whacked the whole "Feeling Pinkie Keen" episode and broke every bone in her body and still managed to face a Hydra in the swamp. Also remember her carrying Tom in "The Return of Harmony, Part 2"). Yup, Twi's super strong and durable and, despite the moments of mental instability she shows (you know that I'm talking about), she's pretty much level headed for it. And it's not the first time she actually stands up all night on studies and the so (Why do you think she needs a night assistant like Owlowiscious, then?).

all valid points, though I was feeling that such an assignment would require constant crunch-work:
reading virtually non stop for 48 hours straight, not just 8, 12, or 24 if she was studying for herself
and can you blame me for wanting to keep Twi in good health and ovoid such unstable episodes (of which we both know) ?

Twily's a fast reader, as we can see. I'm also of that, I can read my way into anything in less than an hour if I'm intrigued, and Twily's intrigued by ANYTHING.
