Biography:

Edward is an old and wise tender engine, he has his own branch line to run on the North western railway, he is often seen pulling passenger trains with either the Old coaches or Orange branch line coaches durring his passenger duties, He is great friends with Trevor and Boco, he also keeps an eye on Bill and Ben when ever their up to mischief, when ever no engine is available, Edward would often help other engines with their long and heavy trains by pushing them to the top of Gordon's hill between Wellsworth and Maron on Sodor, most of all, he likes to calm tempers and restore order to the railway.

Trivia:
Although Thomas is the main character in the Thomas and Friends franchise, however in 1942, Edward was actually the first character ever created by Wilbert Awdry, the Reverend and Author of The Railway Series Books, before the release of the first Railway Series Book in 1945.

Basis:
Edward is based on the Furness Railway 4-4-0 K2 Class tender engines, which ran on the Furness Railway were all scrapped durring the 1930s.
