Construction Notes:
If you like thoughtful, metaphoric, dark (yet sincerely heartfelt) anime, I really cannot recommend Haibane Renmei enough. To date I find it one of the most haunting and profoundly beautiful shows out there, and I hope to push at least a few more folks in its general direction whilst uploading photos of my Reki costume. <3 If you'd like to read more about the construction of this costume, please check out my previous uploads!

I have to agree that Haibane is such an amazing show. ABe does such great work. By any chance have you read the book "Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World". The similarities between it and Haibane are kind of neat.

The character is a smoker. Those are theatrical cigs that puff fake "smoke."

Your costumes are always so beautiful and wrinkle-free! What kind of magic do you use on them to keep them so pristine?
And my gosh, the tinge of the color on those wings is a gorgeous touch.

Aw, thanks! I'm just incredibly anal about ironing everything before I wear it. Spray starch is especially helpful to get a nice crisp look. No magic required!
