Hufffff ya, Xue such an explaination could've helped ages ago, but I guess he got spoiled with one party actively coming to him for assistance(though he did actively give Zeke more of a push to help with his offer), and the other picking up on the severity of the situation and acting sympathetically as a result. . .I guess there also could;ve been a possibility of Jakobi still brushing him off, but Bilbo might have listened, like he's doing here...

I hope it's fairly obvious that Xue isn't isn't really being as thorough as he probably should be at the moment. In a lot of ways he was still thinking of the whole thing as competitive and was content with just pushing through with the rumbling provided if he could also try to restrain Odonata in the process to open/break the fusion. Any help from army being a huge welcome, but an assumed impossibility. Having a huge live audience and a post-surgery head injury doesn't really encourage the 'hey stop everything so I can fix my stupid mistake' route. The first factor probably causing nervousness or anxiety and the other may make it hard to even process that last bit as an option. ahh. sorry probably not the best logic. . .

I guess another thing to consider..especially in terms of what I guess could be called one of the round's themes. Is that sometimes one has to explain something no matter what, even if the one listening can/may reacts badly, they could be perfectly justified in reacting in such a way. Just because one party gets upset doesn't mean another won't, like Bilbo finally getting some context for Plot/Mistress' actions. The original line was something more basic but I decided to go with a lot more to express some hamminess. I started with words like "protective diligence' but wondered if maybe they would/might've been too big for Bilbo. So I opted for keeping one fairly big word, and having him butcher it XD;
