Hey all, sorry I haven't posted anything new in a while.Those that know me well know I am a huge uberdork fan of the Thundercats. Have been since I was a kid. Them and most anything Rankin&Bass ever did. The Thundercats had great animation (for their day) and stories that weren't designed to shove toys down my cake-hole (not Charles Dickens, but good stories). I've continued to like them even after seeing them again as an adult. Not many of my childhood favorites can make that claim.
That's why it was with great pain that I heard that someone might be redoing the Thundercats. I wish I still had the link to this travesty of a mockery of a sham, but the gist was these "new" Thundercats would be teenagers in a band in LA, each with their own Eye of Thundera, and (as God is my witness) Mum-ra was billed as "now with wings"...Gah, I used to think it was only George Lucas who was out to ruin my childhood memories...
So anyway...I decided to try my hand at redesigning the Thundercats - give them a bit of a new look while still trying make them look, y'know (gasp!)...cool. There's a thought for Hollywood. I PSed together a bunch of sketchs into one group shot. Let me know what you think.

this is awesome!! any chance you'd color it? I'd like to get a thundercats tat, I contacted San (artist on here who does a lot of t'cats) he's super swamped, but you both have a similar style.
Let me know if i could commission you to do this (or similar) for a tat.

You did a great job at managing to incorporate a workshop's apron into Panthro's already distinctive shoulder-spikes-and-tabi garb, BTW. Yet, the end result doesn't look any "busier" or crowded as Panthro's original costume did. Come to think of it, each of their revamped clothes does well at adding what's new without betraying what's old, and that's HARD to balance IMO.

you're not alone in your "dorkism" buddy...I saw this and actually got nostalgic/weepy! When you were watching them "back in the day" did you ever think that your skills would ever progress enough to be able to pull off a re-vamping? Terrific interpretation, by the way!
