Description
This one is based on a dream I had which was part day residue, part symbolism. The dialogue translates almost directly into a conversation I had shortly before going to bed about certainty in relationships and the idea of being in love as a conscious decision rather than an uncontrollable force. The White Knight represents the person I had the conversation with.I wish I'd used some kind of reference while doing it, as I spent a lot of time just trying to figure out how things should look. Some readers noted that Cyaneus has gotten more eastern looking--or at least longer. Overall I'm happy with it. I drew the panels so large that each them of them is desktop size or larger, and the last one is actually my current desktop.

this is still my favourite comic strip I ever saw. Not only because of the design (which I found lovely btw!) but because of the dialogue itself. I really want to print it out, 3 meters high, and hang it on my wall, just because of this last sentence "I decided to be one." This whole conversation has a depths in it... hardly to explain. Have you ever dreamt about it again?

I am the dragon, and the White Knight is my lover. He feels a duty toward me, but isn't quite sure how to fulfill it.

There is actually a recent follow-up to this dream--a recurring dream, if you will. I will draw it, but the outcome will depend on how events in my life unfold.

I see. Recurring dreams happen a lot for me, but then again, my dreams tend to represent my desires and mental state. They tend to be very straightforward about it too. Very easy to use them as an introspective tool.

I really liked this piece Cyaneus, and this is the first time I've really commented on something in a while that wasn't done for me as a request, so be proud.
It really speaks to a concept I've been wanting to portray in my personal fiction universe, the concept that just because the expected conflict is expected, doesn't mean it's needed. If that makes sense. There's a couple villians and heroes I have who are like the dragon and like the knight... and a lot of the knight-like characters interactions change as they meet the dragon-like types.

I'm not sure if I ever commented on your comics before, but I find this one the most interesting of them all.
It in a sense encases the theme of internal entities for different parts of the self.
Or even the idea of roles and identities in general.
