April 15th 2019 will surely mark a day remembered by many....the day Notre Dame burned.Β It was such a terrible tragedy to befall this historic and beautiful building. My thanks go to the brave fire service men and women and police who have worked so hard to save it.Human activity may have caused destruction to it over the centuries, but will also work rebuild it. The flames representative of what can be both destructive and yet can be the spark of inspiration and passion, the blood representative of the work and lives of generations that it continues on.

Interpret as you wish, however, but I intended this to be more of a humanist picture than a religious one to mark all of the human endeavour. Despite whatever our own personal beliefs may be, or what faith you follow or none; the skills, art, culture and history that has passed down throughout the generations is something we all have in common and are apart of in some way or another and share. That's the thing about history, it evolves and carries on in a never-ending line.
I kind of shamelessly used a photo of my own hand for this, but the drawing of Notre Dame is this picture (link click here)

Such a powerful picture you drew, my dear! Meaningful and also I like that you did tribute to the people working on saving Notre Dame. The Cathedral will be restored, the treasures in history and art were mostly saved, not all was lost, but man, that day still hurts; when I saw the video on the screen of the spire on fire and then it falling... I freaked out in silence, it was just not happening, right? Wrong, it was real, is heartbreaking!

Yes, very much soΒ Β In the midst of all the shock and awe,Β it's often the actual people risking there lives to save it thatΒ can get overlooked- but yes a terrible night, but like a phoenix from the ashes she will be rebuilt, stronger than ever- and a little more fireproof this time I should hope.

Well said! Fortunately, there were no lives lost and hopefully the firefighters and the policeman that got wounded will recover completely. Notre Dame still stands and will be rebuilt, you said it perfectly!Β

This day hurt me more than I thought it would.... The day after was hard for me emotionally... But she's still around though... Scarred, but still standing tall. Kind of takes me back on some rough memories.

It was a long night to be sure, I was away from home last week so I could only catch up on the news when I could. It was frustrating and heartbreaking. It was an absolutely nervewracking thing to switch the tv on the next morning to see if there was anything left. But yeah, thankfully she was saved, it could have been so much worse and gone completely...at least that's not the case I'm thankful to see and can only rebuild from here,

I know! XD We can't be having her look like that for the premiere of the new Hond movie whenever it's completed- it was just such a shame and awful bad luck it had to happen now of all times (well any time really)Β But yes so glad that they did.

It's going to be slow though, she's so old and fragile. If anything, CGI might be the thing for her at this point. :/
