Description
Something I threw together rather quickly and randomly, this character was pretty much created for fun on an absolute whim. As you can see, Lucent here is a Nocturnus knockoff of Shade the Echidna with bigger breasts, haha!Anyways, she came about after musing on Sonic Chronicles: Dark Brotherhood, and thought about how Shade was pretty much an expy of Julie-Su from the comics. So in a like manner, I've created Lucent here to be an expy of Julie-Su's villainous half-sister, Lien-Da. Again, character created on a whim. Might think about adding her into my stories, especially with regards events post-Dark Brotherhood.

Wanna hear an idea for her special powers that you could use in your stories? Well, I'm telling you anyway!
Lucent could have the ability to manipulate her (seemingly limitless supply phantasmagorical) hair, i.e. her quills. Examples of use would be lengthening/shortening at will; defensive shielding (it would have to be as hard, if not harder, than diamond), wielding each strand in battle like separate limbs, drills, piano wire, snares, that sort of stuff. Lucent would also need to remove her headgear if she wanted to use her quill-hair to its full potential.

You could say that Lucent, Shade and the Pirate (who I'm calling Rah) are all Post-SGW/SEGA counterparts to Lien-Da, Julie-Su and Kragok. 🤔 Hmm.

I wouldn't mind to see other expy of Archie characters. To be honest, I think Shade is an upgraded and more Sonic-esque version of Julie-Su.

I don't agree with the idea that there were any survivors left on Earth (on both the Knuckles and Nocturnus sides), nor do I particularly like the idea that any surviving Echidnas just happened to become near-extinct leaving Knuckles the last one naturally.
In my continuity I expand on Knuckles origin further, detailing him as having been an Echidna from Tikal's era known as Calakmul. He was Pachacamac's best soldier and he was most loyal in serving the Knuckles Tribe. He is particular important when he attempts to steal the Chaos Emeralds in secret, but when a particular Chao tries to alert to his presence, he kills the creature. This Chao in particular is the one who would be transformed by the Master Emerald, becoming Chaos the God of Destruction.
After the destruction of the Knuckles Tribe, Calakmul in particular is cursed by the Master Emerald for what he did to Chaos, cursing him to an eternity of servitude as he constantly rebirths him after each life cycle, leading to the eventual present day Knuckles.

4,000+ years ago, Nakbé was chosen the task at a young age by Pachacamac to guard the Master Emerald and not let anyone else steal it. After the Knuckles Clan was wiped out by Perfect Chaos, Nakbé witnessed the event and placed himself in suspended animation using the Guardian Stone to preserve his soul to save his life. He survived to the present day, but with no memories of his earlier life. Brought into the modern world to guard the Master Emerald, Nakbé, calling himself Knuckles after his spiked knuckle-claws, assumed this role without knowing or remembering the reason why, but knowing from innate knowledge that this was his purpose, and spent his life in solidarity. In addition to a near obsession of protecting his island, Knuckles is greatly affected by the uncertainty of the fate of his own people (until the events of Sonic Adventure). After realising that the Guardian Stone's purpose was for the Echidnas' own selfish needs, Knuckles destroyed the stone which turned him mortal again.

The Nocturnus Clan are some of the coolest foes to appear in the Sonic series, aside from the Metarex!

Originally I was going to give her emblem a skull-like motif, based similarly to the Nocturnus Pirate's headband: img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20…
But I figured I should try to give her a symbol like Shade, so I made it into a face as well while trying to make it look rune-like.
