Description What Is This?
I was asked by many about my musical influences when making stamps and asked to share some of the stories behind the concerts I have seen. I have been to 1200+ live concerts (all national touring bands/singers with albums, not local club bands or tribute/cover bands, have seen plenty of those too) and have saved every ticket stub and backstage pass (when I had one) and kept notes (like a journal) on every show I have ever seen. So from time to time I will scan in the ticket stub from a show I saw (going in no order, skipping around) and talk a little about the show and my opinion. All information property of dA--stamps/dA--bogeyman (me). This is entry#2.

The Concert:
Alice Cooper
The Front (Opening Act)
March 13, 1990
Clifton Park Arena, Clifton Park, New York (USA)

Just So You Know:
This was the "Alice Cooper Trashes The World" tour (for support of the "Trash" album), I could have seen this show in a bigger market at a bigger arena but chose to see it at a smaller venue and it was well worth it.

Personal:
This was my second time seeing Alice Cooper and I went with my then girlfriend Kathy, friend Mitch and his girlfriend Lisa. The girls were not into the show at all and spent most of the time in the back of the arena smoking and drinking beer which was fine with Mitch and I because we were right up front against the stage. The "Clifton Park Arena" was nothing more then a roller skating rink they put a stage in for concerts and only held around 1500 people - Alice was playing 6000-8000 seating arenas for this tour so Mitch and I chose to see him at this smaller more intimate setting. Mitch and I were feeling no pain from partying we did before arriving at the show and we were really pumped up to see Alice Cooper.

The Live Concert (Opener):
The Front (a band from Canada) opened the show and honestly I did not think much of them. The lead singer thought he was Jim Morrison and his voice was way off on this night. The only song worth mentioning is "Ritual" and that was fair at best. They played for about 30 minutes and the crowd mostly ignored them. The band would later change their name to 'Bakers Pink' and I never heard anything about them again.

The Live Concert (Headliner):
I had seen Alice Cooper before and I really liked his new "Trash" album so was really geared up for this concert. When you first walked in the small arena you could see black curtains covering dungeon like machines behind the stage and everyone knew it was going to be a classic Alice Cooper live shoe and he did not disappoint. The lights went out after a brief intermission from the opening band and many things were quickly moved around onstage. A spotlight hit a large garbage can on stage and it exploded breaking in half and there stood Alice as the crowd went berserk and he went straight into the song "Trash". After that tune he rolled out two gems to gt the crowd really roaring "Billion Dollar Babies" and "I'm Eighteen". The stage was set up like a 17th century dungeon and Alice did all his tricks (guillotine, the gallows, electric chair, fake blood, fire, ETC) and the crowd was totally into every song and everything Alice did fist pumping and cheering loudly. Of course when Alice did his newest hit single "Poison" towards the end of his set it got a huge response and the crowd sung along with him almost word for word. Alice rocked the house for about an hour and 45 minutes and of course came back out for a few encores ("Bed of Nails", "Under My Wheels", "School's Out"), so all in all he played for around two hours total. What an amazing show and my friend Mitch had smuggled in a small cassette recorder and taped the whole show which he later had pressed to CD and I still have a copy and listen to it to this day. Alice is an amazing performer and he was in rare form on this night.
