Description
Two of the biggest, baddest, bestest monsters ever: King Kong and Godzilla! The designs here are based on the original films KING KONG (1933) and GOJIRA (1954, later GODZILLA, KING OF THE MONSTERS!, 1956).King Kong's print is in sepia tone and includes some of the saurian co-stars from his debut film, including the jaw-breaking Tyrannosaurus, the slippery Elasmosaurus, the terrifying Pteranodon, the brutal Brontosaurus, and the generally-unpleasant Stegosaurus.
Godzilla's print is in a steel blue tone and guest-stars some of his fellow Toho kaiju from the 1950's: Anguirus (from GODZILLA RAIDS AGAIN), Rodan (from RODAN), and Varan (from VARAN THE UNBELIEVABLE).

The original Kong is still my favorite of all (in terms of both the monster himself and the movie), so I enjoyed drawing this a lot. Not sure I would try any of the other versions (except for maybe the silly Toho one), but what the hey.

If it's OK with you I'd like to see a comparison of the 1933 Tyrannosaurus Rex with the 2005 Vastatosaurus Rex. I love the Vastatosaurus, but there is not enough art of the original Rex. I hope you like the idea.☺

I like this art with both iconic monsters!! You gave to it a vibe of the classic movies from the first half of the 20th century! King Kong with the dinos of his original movie, and Godzilla with the first monsters created by Toho!
