Description "If by any chance you would make the mistake to try to come in and take any one of us we will not let you. You will die. You will have to take any one of us over all of our dead bodies." --- Jim Jones

A Trompe l'oeil painting, 11 X 14 inches done on illustration board with acrylic paint and India ink. Another in the afore mentioned series of created photographs. Everything is painted, the photo, tape and background.

I don't know if this scene exists or ever existed as I imagined it for this rendering but the end of this road spelled the end of the road for 643 adults and 270 children on November 18, 1978 in Gayana, South America

Afraid of what a United States Congressional fact finding mission would uncover, cult leader Jim Jones, a one time San Francisco socialite and small time political figure, ordered his guards to distribute the fatal beverage to his followers and to shoot anyone refusing to drink it or attempting to leave the 'church' compound.

This is what mindless unquestioning devotion leads to.

It looks even better and more realistic, if possible, in person. I must watch the artist in action. Later.

Wow! Amazing as usual

I think it would be cool if you painted a whole wall of photographs, you know..
Going with your explaining history idea, but like paint a whole wall of images and newspaper clippings about the said event, as though it was the wall and sole purpose of a inthusist or detective -kind thing. you know like how in some movies about a murder the detective has a whole wall of photographs and bits of infomation about the murder etc... blah...

ill sshhhh now

Beautiful! And very realistic, too, as always. It's always difficult to tell the difference between your paintings and a real image.
