Have to learn a lot more about effect brushes ... never used them ...Lt. Cmdr. Hugh Culber and Lt. Paul Stamets, for me the best relationship there ever was on Star Trek.

Hier gefällt mir vor allen Dingen die etwas verträumt/transzendale Gesamtkomposition. Die Charaktere sind bei dir eh immer gut getroffen. In Sachen Hintergrund hast du aber ordentlich dazu gelernt (kann man sich davon was assimilieren?) und hier sind man das besonders. Die Effekte sind sehr schön und die Uniformen durchsichtig zu machen ist ein schöner Kniff um dem Bild eben diese transzendierende Note zu verleihen. Passt gut zum Thema Liebe.

LOL! Hier habe ich mal mit den Effekt-Pinsel rumgespielt. Ich hatte mir ein paar Themenpakete von Corel gekauft, als sie im Preis heruntergesetzt worden sind. So nach dem Motto "Irgendwann kann ich das sicherlich brauchen...." und natürlich habe ich sie nie benutzt. Also habe ich hier einfach mal drauf los gespielt.

I really have to look into effect brushes more - I'm always buying sets from Corel, when they go for sale, always thinking "perhaps I could use that ..." and I never used any of it so far and still am painting with only 3 different standard brushes.

I was preparing myself for his death for weeks now (don't ask why, but I was in mortal fear for him since quite some time), but when it came it still was a shock. To be honest, I turned off the TV and still don't know the rest of the episode. I'll have to watch it again ... somewhen ...

I heard gossips that they could take Paul away, so I was worried what they were planning. But this? To my favourite character from the show? I thought it explained why he wasn't a regular cast member 
Now I'm worried and hopeful at the same time. I also hope it gets resolved be the end of the season, because leaving us like this until September would be... not good

Wilson Cruz explained some of those points on twitter (thankfully, otherwise I would have gone mad):
Regular cast member means he had to be exclusive for the show and since he was simultaneously filming on Star Trek and on 13 Reasons Why, he couldn't be exclusive.
And from what I heard on AfterTrek and read in some articles he will be back and the story of those two will continue, they hinted at the mycelium network for this. I have no idea how they'll do it, or how well and meaningful it will be written - but for now I have hope. Stamets simply can't be without Culber - he still owes him a visit to the opera!

Better now. But the scene-that-must-not-be-mentioned unfortunately worked as a trigger and did send me into emotional shutdown (don't even know the rest of the episode so far, cause I had to turn off the TV). This was my therapy painting to get out of it and allow myself to feel feelings again.
Wilson Cruz posted a lot of tweets to asure us that this is not the end. So my trust is on him.

Why coudn't they just let them live their lives happy together ? Writers like to make their characters suffer, and their fans (and more) too...
I remember how much I've cried when Spock died in TWOK, I wasn't really aware that he would actually be back afterwards at the time. Well I still cry each time I watch that scene though... I mean, he didn't know he would come back, neither did Leonard Nimoy !

This is a beautiful work of both characters. I got far enough in the show to hear how they first met and how Stamets won't tell him about the effects of the BA on him.

Yeah, that was one of the happier scenes in the show. Though, considering what's going on in the show now, I'm really hoping the writers don't confirm my fears. Sorry if this is vague, but I'm trying to keep these comments spoiler free in case anyone who hasn't watched the show reads what we say.

Remember in the TOS and ENT episodes of the Mirror Universe where women couldn't be captains and instead had to be the lovers of captains, hence the whole Captain's woman rank? On DISC, women can be captains and not have to go through this BS. I know TOS was in the sixties, but still.

I always had a fascination with it, though I think the concept of Star Trek's MU can be a little simplistic. I recently got into Stephen King, so I'm getting more of a fascination with dark stuff but I've learned that something being dark doesn't automatically make it good.

Yes, I read Wilson's tweets - after people kept telling me I should watch AfterTrek wherein everything would be explained and I always had to inform them that Germany has AfterTrek only 24 h later.
BTW ... did you catch Wilson saying something about a poster art someone sent him that he posted on his instagram? That was my painting! I was soooooo thrilled when I heard that.

I'm relieved that the effects are okay for you. I'm not sure I like the outcome. I tried to somehow mimick the mycelium network, but have to spend much more time with those effect brushes to learn how they can be put to use.
