My last painting for this year is in honour of Wilson Cruz' 44th birthday. Albeit little screen time, his Dr. Hugh Culber on Star Trek Discovery really grew on me. So I decided to paint him in the style of one of the promo posters CBS had for the launch of the series.I had to copy the logo into the painting (which I normally don't like doing), cause when I painted the letters they looked so wibbly wobbly, that they ruined the piece ... me and straight lines don't go together!

Eines deiner besten. Ein schönes Charakterbild, das vor allem durch die Farbgebung und dem schönen "Überflauf" von Portrait zu Sternenhintergrund überzeugt. Auch das Schiff ist sehr schön und der Schriftzug passt auch wunderbar. Ein tolles Poster, schlicht und ergreifend. Beide Daumen hoch.

Thank you I was astonished myself how well Culber can be painted. There must be something about his features that just hits my mark.
The beauty of it is, that Wilson Cruz saw this painting and shared it on his Instagram and Facebook page - I was so, so, so, so fangirl humbled! Love this man (and so fear for his character ... I'll be biting nails for tomorrow's episode ...)

I'm not a fan of the character (just not enough information yet), but his smile is kind and really beautiful. I hope tomorrow doctor will not be heartbroken...

I like how the speckle of stars extends into his hair so that he becomes part of the universe too.

Wow, das ist mit Abstand eines deiner besten Bilder! Alleine schon der Hintergrund ist sagenhaft schön! Und die Uniform! Man möchte fast darüber streichen, so real sieht der Stoff aus. Ich weiß gar nicht, was ich noch alles einezln betonen soll, weil einfach ALLES großartig ist: Das PADD, die Mimik, der Bart (ja, ich hab's immer mit den Bärten ^^). Kurz: WOW!

Ich war mehr oder weniger nur noch sporadisch auf TN, um nach dem Rechten zu sehen. Hier war im RL einiges an Stress. Muss allmählich alles, was mehr als drei Worte benötigt, nachkommentieren. (Und deine Bilder kann ich nicht mit "Lol, coolio!" oder "Wow, sieht klasse aus!" abspeisen. ) ^^
