Description What I so love about Star Trek Discovery (apart that it is the first TV series in about 2 decades that "glues" me to the screen) is the way the passion for the series and the characters pushes me onwards art wise. I feel like I improved my way of painting quite a lot since I started painting for this series and got a better grip on the digital medium. This piece now is the first time I tried to bring my own emotions into a painting (not only the emotions of the charas like I normally do).

This is really great.  You brought back a lot of emotion from that part of the series.

I'm glad to hear that. Cause somehow emotionally I'm stuck in that part of the series, so I had to get my emotions into a painting.

Such raw emotions... Like we could touch a bit of your soul.
*hugs you tightly*
This series certainly speaks to your heart...
*hugs you once more*

Thank you so much!
This damned series is playing with the souls of a lot of fans at the moment. Imho Star Trek has never been better and never more heart wrenching! I'm still not sure if I should be looking forward to season 2 or not.

Problem with this painting ... it was the first time I got my emotions into - and immediately went into a painter's block afterwards - as if showing my emotions just was too much. Now I'm doing some easy comic style portraits to get out it again.

Argh well... Strong emotions are quite the salt of life, aren't they? I hope the good ones were enough to balance the painful ones...

Sometimes we need time to process things...

Thank you so much! It is the first painting where I was able to bring some of my emotions into it. I think, I never did this before.

I have no worries, cause emotions is what I'm striving to do. This is the first time, so this is definitely my personal masterpiece.

Beautiful! Your Discovery art definitely has a lot of passion to it. You can tell that you really enjoy it.

Well used effects! It really adds something extra to the piece. Lovely blue and pink harmony too.

To borrow Tilly's words - feel so much feelings with this show. It really is astounding. It pushes me into realms where I didn't want to be pushed into. But once there I realise that it helps me to get better. I hope I can keep that impetus once the season ends and there will be a year without Discovery.

i love this piece so much!! the way you painted the skin almost makes it look like it's glowing, i love the idea of the broken glass, and poor stamets in the bottom in so much pain a very sad painting, but great job!

The glowing is the effect of a luminance layer (thanks to yours truly). I played around with it a bit, and it is really nice tool.
I thought more of a bit positivity in the painting - the layer that starts to splinter is not the loving kiss, but the grey wall that lies over it. So Stamets starts to reach out of the grey prison walls of his mind.
