Description
i.
I ended up at her building for the first time in two years.
I was thunder and I was lightning, and she had gotten sick of me ruining the sky.
I told her I was trying to paint.
And isn't it a peculiar feeling, to find exactly what you're looking for long after you've stopped searching? Very peculiar, to make dandelion wine in a field full of weeds.
No need for an ambulance; she had caught my breath.
ii.
"I think I've liked you forever." She said to me,
because I put down my pride.
But we had both fallen in love with the wrong people when I went away.
"I don't think I'll ever stop loving you."
I said to her.
And nothing beats her smile.
iii.
I'm sometimes very sorry, because I made her wait for me to grow up. And everything was wrong the first time, and I'll be making songs about it soon.
"You're my favourite coincidence." She said.
"You're my favourite everything." I didn't say.
And finally, we found something that was certain.
iv.
Her drunk words was sober love in the making, and I'm making my way to sober because I can only control myself.
A few miles means nothing and I'm so thankful for the nighttime. I'm so thankful that I was broken, because I'd be too proud to love her otherwise.
White, white, and hazel; I'll never forget the look in her eyes. Because I peeled back her fingers and my lips had their own plans.
Let's see how two years have changed us.
v.
"Do you feel that?" I said to her.
"It's warm." She responded.
"No, it's fire." I said.
She's just so much like the girl I missed out on.
I was daring her to trust me.
vi.
So I told her that I'd always hold her higher than me,
and she swore she's never waited so long.
She shot me a look that reminded me of summer, and she whispered two words.
"Stop searching."
