Description
Twin brothers originally from the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario and Luigi somehow ended up in Brooklyn, New York. After becoming plumbers, they were transported back to the Mushroom Kingdom while working in a New York Sewer. Since then, Mario and Luigi have saved the kingdom many times from the evil turtles know as Koopas.Related content

I don't believe Mario & Luigi were born in the Mushroom Kingdom, I believe the Mushroom Kingdom to be a parallel universe. Much like we see in Futurama, they'res millions of parallel universes.
And honestly, Nintendo is cheap for the kids to think babies come from storks.

Heh! It's the High Jump from "Mario and Luigi"!. The great Mario Brothers are not getting the respect they deserve. Respect people! PH33R THE MARIO BROS.!!!
Oh, and from one ranting Mario fan to another, all that stuff is true except for one thing, the true Mario Bros. were never in New York. The movie did a grave injustice to the world of Mario (though I hafta admit the Bob-ombs were kinda cool). He and Luigi have always been Mushroom Kingdom plumbers. As for the Italian accent, blame Mario's real-life counterpart who was the landlord for Nintendo's first office building and Hiroshi Yamauchi's inspiration for the character. Plus Charles Martinet's mad voice-over skillz. Forgive the pageflooding but I am a Mario and Nintendo fan since age 2.
