Description Nathan Grady: A Daizua Neo Story (Non-Canon)

Episode 7

----------

Nathan: Alright everybody, let’s review everything we know so far.

He lays out the four Pieces of Eight on the table for Penny, Chloe, Roy, and Cody to see.  Each holds a piece and examines it.

Nathan: So far, we got four Pieces of Eight.
Penny: That leaves us five to go, and they’re out there somewhere.
Nathan: If Dieter figured out where they are, that’s going to be a problem.
Chloe: But he doesn't have the map that leads to them.
Penny: Yeah.
Cody: Has the map been doing that weird glow thingy again since Lemuria?

The pieces and map gems glow again.

Roy: It did now.  And this gem is signifying a Piece of Eight in the Pacific Ocean.
Chloe: The Pacific?!  It’ll take years to find a jewel there!  It’s the biggest ocean in the world!
Penny: Yeah, unless a Dinosaurian or Alayssian is willing to help out, not sure what to expect down there.
Roy: Ichthyosaurs could. They’re marine reptiles that can go as deep as any deep sea whale or dolphin.
Cody: You guys might want to rethink that.  Look at this.

They are looking at a headline about the Pacific Ocean and a find there.  The article’s picture shows what looks like a serpentine dragon.

Nathan: A dragon?
Cody: The article says it’s staying in that vicinity.  It’s like it’s protecting something.
Penny: Yet I heard dragons are sentient, not the monsters some mythologies claim them to be in Medieval Europe.
Roy: But what is it protecting?  The Piece of Eight?
Nathan: Only one way to find out.  We’re going in those waters.

Cody charges up his submarine again, then the gang dives into the Pacific Ocean.  It is vast and blank, except for assorted marine animals.  Penny looks out the windows to see a school of fish.

Penny: I’ve been wondering.  Will we find another super city that inspired these lost continents?  The two times we went down underwater, we found Atlantis and Lemuria.
Nathan: There’s only one other lost continent I can think of if this is the case.  Mu.
Penny: Why am I thinking of that one Japanese movie with the flying submarine?
Cody: I’m picking up that strange metal again, guys.  It’s above us.

They look up to see a big cone shape with a hole in the center.  The submarine goes inside it.

Nathan: Steady as she goes.
Chloe: The Pacific part of the map is glowing brighter.  We must be on the right track.

They find the ruins of another ship, but a dragon intercepts them.  The dragon is serpentine in appearance, and has traits of basic Chinese dragons, as well as eels.  Fins and barbels sprouted across its body.  Its hide color matched the sea and rusty metal around it.

Penny: Whoa.  I've never seen a dragon alive and up close before.
Nathan: This is an Asian dragon.  Cody, lower the sub’s weapons.
Cody: Oh yeah sure, let’s invite it over for a beer.  You out of your goddamn mind, Grady?
Nathan: Let it know we’re not a threat.

Cody withdraws the sub’s weapons.  This prompts the dragon to lower its guard just a little.  It then descends, leading them to the ship’s wreckage.  They see something red glowing underneath.

Nathan: There.

The dragon clears away the ship, revealing a red Piece of Eight.  It grabs the Piece and places it in the sub’s mechanical arms.

Cody: Uh, thanks?
Nathan: We got the Piece of the Pacific Ocean.
Penny: Hey guys, look at the glyphs behind the dragon.  They show the city.
Roy: What does it show?

Chloe uses cameras to zoom in and look.  It shows the ancient Mu above a bunch of land and ocean.  She cleaned her glasses in confusion, then looked one more time.

Chloe: These super cities were… FLOATING IN THE SKY?!  There’s no way that’s right.

The dragon starts giving off blue biolights, flashing them in pulses across its body.

Chloe: What the?
Roy: What's with the light show?
Penny: Maybe it's an intimidation display.
Cody: Consider us very intimidated.
Nathan: I don't think it's for us.
Roy: Then for who?

----------

The radar picks up another submarine signal, one bigger than theirs.  The dragon suddenly darts in that direction.  It wraps around the giant submarine.

Nathan: Something got its attention.
Penny: This is like Atragon, but without the drill.

The others look at her weirdly.

Penny: What?
Nathan: Nerd.

The submarine takes heavy damage as the dragon constricts it.  Eckhardt sees a nearby volcano with lava.

Dieter: To the volcano!  Burn this beast to death!

The submarine heads right for the lava.  The submarine begins to overheat, and so does the dragon.  Men in the sub pass out, and the dragon is forced to let go.  But instead of burning alive, the intense heat causes it to glow a bright gold color.

Dieter: Fall back!  Follow Grady!

As his sub chases Nathan, the dragon chases Dieter’s sub, glowing brightly.

Chloe: That dragon looks angry.

The dragon is hit by torpedoes but is unaffected.  It swats the submarine away, sending it rolling into the darkness.  It then surrounds Nathan's submarine.

Cody: Don’t tell me it wants to take its anger out on us.
Roy: Its movements are more calm.

The dragon looks into the sub and sees they managed to get the Piece of Eight inside.

Nathan: According to Dinosaurian legends, dragons can tell black hearts from pure hearts.  He must know we have good intentions for the Piece of Eight.

The dragon swims back down to Mu to rest.  The gang sighs in relief, knowing that the dragon determines they pose no threat and that they have obtained what they came for.

Nathan: I think that’s enough adventure for today.
Penny: Aren’t you forgetting something?
Nathan: Huh?
Penny: The Pacific Piece of Eight?
Nathan: We got it.

He holds the red one they received.

Penny: Thank goodness.
Nathan: I do this for a living, remember?
Penny: Yeah yeah.

While they return to the mainland, Dieter and the survivors have returned to the man he talked to in the previous episode, still hiding in the shadows.  The man obviously sounded displeased with Dieter's humiliating defeat.

Man: You and your cult do not seem as capable as I thought.  Perhaps I should reconsider our collaboration efforts.
Dieter: But this was my plan!  You promised me a high-ranking position into your special death gang.

The man reveals himself into the light.  He has dark brown hair with a short, ragged beard, auburn eyes, and an olive green uniform.  He appeared to be in his early 40's or so.  This is Dastard von Deed, the leader of a new, mysterious terrorist organization.  He and Dieter made deals to aid in Dieter's own secret plan, but is now beginning to doubt him.  But perhaps he does have other aces up his sleeve.

Dastard von Deed: You will have one last chance to change my mind, Eckhardt.
Dieter: Do not fear, Dastard von Deed.  I will show you who is weak.
