Josiah: That would be more or less the net ionic equation, yes. But it's a bit more involved than simply throwing pure sodium and chloride in a bowl and shouting "Now BOND!" at them . The easiest way to get a salt product would be to set up an acid/base reaction with compounds that have the ions you want in them, like NaOH (sodium hydroxide) and HCl (hydrochloric acid). A double substitution happens and you're left with NaCl (sodium choride) and HOH, or rather H2O... water. Though if you're honestly trying to make something that would be safe to EAT, your best bet is still to refine salt water from the ocean and then evaporate off the water. NaOH and HCl are both pretty dangerous chemicals in high concentrations.

Nah, I didn't think you were being negative. I totally agreed with you. And not in a negative way. I think I do do that standing still for the camera thing. And your characters are loaded up with caffeine or something. Even when they are standing still they look like they are ready to start waving bits of themselves around.
