Description
This is an older drawing. I made it almost three years ago (...) and now it has finally made it's way here.This is one of the tree similar drawings I made at about the same time. They all were made with black fineliners and none of them were sketched first with pencil.
It amazes me how few overlapping black lines this drawing has. Surely it has few but it is not the useal mess of black lines.
I'm happy how well the wings turned out.

Feathered wings are good alternative to the classic bat like wings.

I'm rarely for feathered wings on dragons, but it just seems kinda right with this one. Would love to see a colored version even though I love this version too. Faved.

I think the design and the pose of the dragon are good in this one, so I might use them later. However I probably won't colour this sketch in the same manner I did with The angry dragon and I will arrive at the sunrise .

It takes a lot time and skeching to make feathers look good.
And the black fineliners are perfect for drawing them since the texture can be nicely displayed with thin lines. It may feel like tedious job to draw all feathers one by one but I think it pays off in the end.
