Description This is a birthday card for my mother. She liked the giraffes I did for In the desert and she likes roses too. I combined the two ideas for this painting. I painted it with watercolour and finished the sky with colour pencils. The paper I used show colour very well, they stay bright and just like I indented. But the previous layers of paint were easily washed off, which was both good and bad thing. It was easy to wash off colours but applying next layer of paint often messed up the everything beneath. Also my graphite pencils sketch disappeared while painting and I don't know why.

(If anyone is interested the paper in question is Canson's Pochades for croquis 240/m² 15 x 25 cm.)

oh my god, it's so pretty! how do you draw roses? I can never quite get them right.

Thank you! I have used a model to draw roses (for the only four roses I've ever drawn) but usually the result doesn't resemble the original picture at all. I just let them be, beause they still looke like rose, even if greatly simplified ones.
