Holy crap. The detail is so crisp and the colours are amazingly vibrant! Great shot!

Hi I love your photos so much! You have really inspired me into the world of macro!... Or miniature more like.

Couple questions though. I'm assuming the lens was at 1:1 (right?)and you're using the 500d, What closeup filter did you use? was it +1, +2, +4, +10??? What brand? Thanks a bundle, and keep up the great work!!!

Thanks

Actually for that shot I'm not even close to life size, and I think the 500D is rated as a +2. I was just using the closeup filter for that shot because I like the bokeh that I get with it -much better than just using the bare lens.

If you don't get Canon's 500D then pick up a diopter made by Raynox -I've heard that it's a good brand. Avoid cheap diopters -you get what you pay for...

Hey thanks a lot I really appreciate your help!! I was actually looking into the raynox
lense, seem pretty good for screw ons.

If I may ask, how big were the butterflies?

About the size of a U.S. quarter -at life size I can't get a whole one in the frame

Wow, they're so blue.

I've never seen butterflies like this before.

Any idea what they're called?

I've always heard them called Haystack Butterflies.
