The Dark Divine Moth

Regarding Mothra and Legendary Godzilla, the SpaceGodzilla and Battra are natural antithesis to them. SpaceGodzilla or KoseiGodzilla's acted as the Godzilla's dark shadow, holding dominion over the Hollow Earth, a Dark Mothra or Battra often appearing as their symbiotic partner. Nature itself in balance.

Battra's species and the Kosei species have existed in the Hollow Earth alongside each other for thousands of hundreds of years. Battra’s species used the radiation given off by the Crystal Godzilla’s to hatch their eggs and continue their lifecycle. When the Great Shift occurred, the Dark Moths were forced to the surface alongside their crystal counterparts coming into conflict with the Godzilla’s and Mothra’s on the surface.
As the Kosei’s began to weaken and die from the conflict, losing their powers from the strange surface environment, the Dark Moth’s began to die out, no longer having their ability to resurrect and coexist with their Crystal counterparts.
Watching his species slowly become extinct, Battra approached Mothra for help who willingly helped him after he helped her defeat Heisei Godzilla alongside his counterpart, Rozan. Although Battra died sealing away the King of Monsters, Rozan and Mothra helped him resurrect, changing his biology to accept another form of radiation to continue his lifecycle.
After Heisei became free several years later, he eventually ordered hostilities to be ceased against the Kosei, seeing as only Rozan, remained and that if the Hollow Earth lost its Rulers then the entire ecosystem of Earth would be in jeopardy. Heisei proceeded to reconcile the past and made Rozan his queen, a choice which disgruntled most Kaiju.
After Rozan gave birth to Ririn, Battra visited the newborn, but dismissed him. Ririn was too small and despite being a hybrid of Heisei Godzilla and KoseiGodzilla, he still suffered from the illness that would later turn his body into crystal and kill him. Battra urged Rozan to try for another however Rozan kept the young boy alive, especially since Godzilla Junior had recently been killed and Heisei lost the title of Alpha to YoroiGojira.
Rozan died protecting Ririn shortly after this and Battra silently and secretly protected the baby Ririn as much as he could. Battra however was unable to protect Ririn from the wrath of Yoroi Gojira who upon finding out Ririn’s true parentage, saw the boy as a threat and attempted to kill him.
During the years that Ririn had been presumed dead, Battra retreated to an Island in Micronesia, once a stronghold for the Kosei Godzilla species and occasionally helped Mothra deal with threats or concerns. When Shin Godzilla returned from Antarctica, Battra and Mothra worked together to prevent King Ghidorah from being unfrozen as Shin’s attack broke some of their magical seals, Battra travelled into Space to patrol the edges of the solar system to make sure no other Ghidorah’s could take Earth by surprise.
It was here that Battra encountered Desghidorah and proceeded to try and fight them, being completely surprised by a grown up Ririn who had followed the three headed dragon with the Ultraman Belial. Battra proposed a deal to Ririn as they fought the Ghidorah on Neptune’s moon, Proteus.
Battra would rally the Kaiju of Earth against the Tyrant King, Yoroi, in his favour if he returned to Earth and took care of the Ghidorah currently frozen there. Ririn would become Earth’s rightful King, as his mother intended him to be. Battra also revealed that he could alter Ririn’s mana and crystals to allow him to have a similar rebirth cycle to a Divine Moth if he wished. Ririn initially refused, stating that he did not wish to be resurrected, however he would consider it.
Battra was killed by Desghidorah and resurrected, approached by Orga a few months later who stated that Ririn had returned. Battra, was insulted that Ririn did not come to see him himself. Orga left and Battra snapped at him not to come back unless it was with ‘the foolish boy’.
Present day Ririn immediately sets about trying to accept Battra’s deal however Battra rejects him, now saying that Ririn was no longer ‘pure’ and that the Ultra technology was slowly infecting his mind, making him tyrannical and a worse threat to Earth than Yoroi and that his mother should not have given him a chance as a baby.
Furious, Ririn lashed out at Battra despite Orga and Hedorah’s protests. Almost in a mindless rage Ririn began psychotically attacking and mutilating Battra unaware that the UN Military who had been sent on orders to kill the Crystal Godzilla by any means necessary, were now closing in on them. Battra, despite being a powerful divine moth, held little to no defence when Ririn grabbed him and tried to drown him in the sea.
It was when Hedorah, Orga, Battra and Ririn were all in the ocean that the Military deployed the weapon, Daisuke Serizawa had invented, the Oxygen Destroyer. Said weapon proceeded to kill Orga and Battra, stripping them of all flesh and leaving Hedorah badly injured. Ririn, able to exist in an Oxygenless environment only grew more furious and proceeded to destroy the UN’s fleet, all the while ranting furiously and incoherently.
In pain, furious and now paranoid from both Legendary’s and now Battra’s rejection of him, Ririn abandons what is left of Hedorah and flies back to his fortress where Jirass and Belial are waiting, calling for Gigan, Krystalak and Obsidious to be at his side.

In Atlantis, Gamera awakens just in time to find Shin Godzilla smashing Legendary Godzilla free of his crystal prison. After freeing Legendary, Shin makes no hostile attempts towards them and greets them as Guardians of Earth.

Ishiro Serizawa returns to Tokyo with Graham, absolutely horrified to find out that his brother’s ‘Oxygen Destroyer’ weapon has been used. He attempts to track down his brother however it has been discovered that upon seeing his weapon in action, he destroyed every known trace of the device and walked willingly into the Crystal Fortress, where he was killed by the enraged SpaceGodzilla. Serizawa is approached by the Ogashira who reveals that the Shin Humanoid who accosted him while looking for Legendary, has presented itself to the Science Patrol and is demanding to see Serizawa.

Wingspan: 135m
Attributes:
Physical strength. Despite his forms, Battra is an incredibly Physical combatant.
Prism Beams. Fired from eyes or crown.
Psychic. Unlike mothra who is more inclined with visions of the future, Battra’s psychic powers are a lot more combative similar to Spacegodzilla’s.
Hypnosis. Can render opponents to sleep if effective.
Photon Shield
Flight - Imago
Powder Attack/Spore Attack. Can suffocate and blind an opponent in extreme cases.
Burrowing (as larva)
Poisonous stings
Can fire an energy pulse from crown
Telepathy with other Divine Moths and KoseiGodzilla’s.
Personality:
Battra is in many ways the opposite of Mothra. Where as Mothra is a loving a caring being, Battra is aloof and cold towards others, often not showing compassion to others.
He does however care deeply for the Earth and will defend it to the death if he must.
Battra is impulsive and violent in the face of those he deems a threat to Earth. He will often provoke and taunt enemies without regard for the consequences. It was this impulsiveness and Ririn’s increasingly violent behaviour that lead to his most recent death.
Battra has a reasonable relationship with Mothra. Despite their conflict on how issues need to be addressed, they do have the same goal in mind.
Battra was a good companion to Rozan, despite her relationship with the then Alpha, Heisei Godzilla. Their relationship strained when Battra took objection to Ririn as a newborn. However Battra still protected Ririn after Yoroi defeated Heisei and rose to power.
Despite most Kaiju objecting to Shin Gojira’s appearance, Battra welcomed it, believing that the Mutant King had more integrity than Yoroi ever had as King.
Battra has an unclear view of Legendary, not seeing much of the boy but welcomes that he is taking in Gamera’s mentoring rather than Yoroi’s.
SCIENCE PATROL NOTES:
The younger Ultraman Geed and his alien friend Pega have been taken under the wing of Ultraman and the new Ultra Ambassador, Zero.
While investigating a disturbance in the Bay of Tokyo, Geed came across one of the Shin Humanoids, codenamed; Eva. Eva came surprisingly quietly and expressed that Shin Gojira wished to speak with the ones who had frozen him.
Director Ogashira was understandably unerved at this prospect and voiced that it may have been a trap. Eva however proceeded to inform her that Shin Gojira knows better than to attack a collective on such high alert with the Crystal Godzilla’s current attack.
Eva then proceeded to give the science patrol a Kosei Gojira’s surge crystal, stating that Kosei Godzilla's are strong against many things, but not themselves.
The Science Patrol and Government wished to interrogate and question Eva further however she would not speak until she could talk to Serizawa Ishiro. Or rather, until her Master could talk to Doctor Serizawa again.
