I don't hate her. I hate the fact she marries him in the future.No bad comments. Because I know its terrible. The colouring and everything. Terrible. Plus I meant on the second panel "Do YOU like that message I left you?" couldn't be bothered to correct. meh.

I don't like River Song being Doctor's wife too. I guess all or almost that Moffat had done is quite illogical and weird, 10th was fond of Rose that much, I could say, after her River looks like a joke in this story. Every Doctor's companion was somehow in love with him or all but so, and it seems that only Rose was special enough for him if he did such a thing - gave her a normal life with his double though his own hearts were bleeding as well. And after all this such a stupid things with special Ponds, more special Clara (I dare say I would add Donna's speciality as well) and in the end River as his wife. If he would finish being with Master it would look more logical after all, really = =

Brilliant!!! I loved this! This is what one would (sort of ) expect the Dr to react. Not....Oh happy days. The psycho bitch who tried to kill me is going to be my wife. its like WTF?!! What the heck is moffat smoking? And why are some idiots saying river is sexy? Maybe Alex in other roles might come across as more appealing but in this role she reeks to high heaven. Her grotesque personality makes her an ugly dog. The dr of old has never shown any interest in creepy psychotic bitches in the past. So WHY is Moffat such an incompetent moron? Why on Earth would he think that a character like the Dr would ever fall for such a worthless dime-a-dozen character.
Everything this worthless character does that supposedly makes her so "special" has already been done by previous companions. Everything from flying the Tardis better then the Dr (hello Romana?) or were taught to fly by the Dr, Susan, Leela, Adric, Tegan, Nyssa, Turlough, Mel, Donna.
Several past companions used weapons or fought when and where necessary. Liz Shaw, Sarah Jane, Leela used bot ray-guns and a knife and tried to use janis thorns which would kill a person within minutes of being infected. (now thats bad-azz) Romana once pulled a piece of rock off a ceiling and slammed it over the head of a vampire in State of Decay. And Adric, Tegan, Nyssa, Turlough, Peri, Mel used weapons. And Ace had her Nitro-nine explosives. (it could blow up a dalek) and she used a special bat that was made special by the 7th Dr putting inside of a blown-up Dalek and it popped out able to bash a dalek.
She "talks back" to the Dr? So did Barbera, Vicki, Polly, Liz, Sarah Jane, Leela, Romana, Nyssa, Tegan, Peri, Mel, Ace, Dr Grace, and Donna.
She's met the Dr out of order? So did Melonie and the 6th Dr. The Mel that the Master brought to Gallifrey had traveled with the 6th Dr for some time. But for the 6th Dr this was his first meeting with her.
River isn't half-human/half-Gallifreyan. She was just a human who for some really stupid reason was born with Time lord type powers. rme
There are however 3 Half-Human Half-Gallifreyan people though. According to the Book 'The Five Doctors' Susan (the Dr's granddaughter) married David (Dalek Invasion of Earth) and they had 3 children. They would be half and half.
So at the end of the day. River has nothing special about her. She is just an annoying pain in the rear-end. Who will hopefully be packed off to the library any day now. Fingers Crossed!

The thing about River is...well I think everyone has said it. She's annoyingly smug,their relationship is weird and condescending.
The Melody thing is a little cute but its just weird and over complicates everything.

Will you stop being so violate" But then in Season 6 hes all "Heeeeeeyyy Sexy Lady! The Doctor was actually irritated with River at the beginning of this season as well, AND most of the way through it! He was even irritated with her at the last episode of ssn 6 part 1, until he found out who she was (which is CREEPY). And then, once he find out she is evil and out to kill him, he SPONTANEOUSLY loves her. And the not caring that she kills people thing pisses me off to no end as well...

*pants* Sorry...I don't like her very much...it's not even her, it's the whole her/Doctor thing...THERE IS NO CHEMISTRY! If anything, she annoys him like none other most of the time! And not in the fun "We annoy each-other like a married couple way", but in the "We annoy each-other like two people trying to be forced into a contrived relationship" way.

But we already saw her (sort of) die in the library. That happens, they can change it (if they change that, by all that is right, they better run). So River can't be around for much longer. We know who she is, we know what her "relationship" with the Doctor is, the mystery is over, she can die and go into a computer now and the Doctor can move on and be awesome.
(Side Note: I do like her as a character, but I'm with everyone else with the whole "her and the Doctor don't work as a couple" thing. I really want the Master to come back and mock him about her. Y'know, "OMG, you didn't?! You finally married one of the apes!" but I digress... >.>)

Yeah, this must have been posted before we knew all of that (I don't even remember posting this O_O) but I just don't care as much anymore. Her character hold's no appeal no me, and as it is DW she WILL eventually go away (EVERYONE does) so there's not all that much to worry about.

Prepare for a long comment. What bothers me most about River is that she and the Doctor don't really have any chemistry. To be fair, I haven't watched series six yet, but I have trouble believing that they are supposed to have some kind of epic relationship, whether the relationship involves romance or something along the lines of being best friends. Honestly, I enjoyed watching Amy and River interacting more than watching the Doctor and River interact. I think it's the fact the River's timeline is so convoluted. With River and the Doctor, one of them is always "ahead" of the other. Not to mention, River's way of saying,"Spoilers, don't look in my super-secret journal" seems like it's supposed to come across as her joking with her best friend/whatever but instead it comes across as her being a little smug and saying, "I know something you don't know." Basically, River and the Doctor's relationship is all tell and no show. It's River telling the Doctor (and the audience) that they have/are going to have some sort of great relationship with one another but without really showing that relationship. A good example of "showing" is that with the Doctor and Donna, there was no one telling the audience that they were great together, we were able to see it by watching them go on adventures together and seeing that Donna helped the Doctor out by not putting up with his bullshit and that the Doctor helped her out by showing her that she was in fact brilliant.
I think River has and might still have the potential to be a good character. She did grow on me a bit at the end of series five, other than the whole, "Hey Doctor, we may or may not be married" thing. But there is much room for improvement and River always being "ahead" of the Doctor in her timeline isn't working out very well. It is an interesting idea but it's poorly executed. Especially when you have her doing things like flying the Tardis better than the Doctor, writing in Galliyfreyan, and knowing the Doctor's true name, not to mention being able to pronounce it. Those things just make River have Mary Sue tenancies if there is no explanation behind them. And I did get spoiled for series six and know about how River was conceived, which explains some of those things. But the whole Tardis noise being the parking break thing and River being the person to figure it out after the Doctor had the Tardis for 900+ years put me off her for the rest of the episode. And the thing is, I do want to like her because she has the potential to be a good character and it's nice that Doctor Who has a sort of "action hero" who's an older woman but the Mary Sue tenancies and her lack of chemistry with the Doctor make it difficult. And like I said, it's hard believing that the Doctor and River have an epic BFF thing going on, let alone a romance. Before Amy and Rory got married, the Doctor and Amy had much more romantic potential than the Doctor and River. Hell, even Doctor/Rory seemed much more likely than Doctor/River.
As for the actual comic, it did make me laugh a bit. Of course, they sort of already killed her off, but I can imagine the Master trying to do something like that.
