I sort of resent your rendering of my favourite great-grat-grandmother who was so very much more beautiful than this, who had real class as opposed to this rendering!

Beautiful work! I really like her face it's kind and radiant. Her overdress has a lovely sense of fullness like it would have in real life and the undress looks lovely and gauzy and soft. Her hair is great too, I like how much warmth of color it has.

The real Varvara was my great-great-grandmother, and she would find this portrait in extremely bad taste and vulgar. She would hate it.

honestly neither of us can genuinely speak for her, but I doubt you very much, mostly because its simply stylistically different, the elements in the image are exactly the same. same wardrobe, same subject, background etc. There is nothing vulgar about it. You're being incredibly rude, but you are entitled to your opinion regardless (as am I).

never said I did or didn't like your ancestry and I honestly do not care at all. What does matter is that you are being rude and art is subjective whether YOU like it or not. That's just the way it is. Keep throwing tantrums online if it makes you feel better, but attacking an artist for a stylistically different portrait with all the same elements is wrong. Had she been painted nude, or pockmarked, and intentionally made hideous then perhaps you could call it vulgar with reasoning. but as is, this painting is classy and you're just being a troll.
