Ooooo, very nice. Another rugged Sci-Fi Marine character of yours. I really do not know how you do it, but your people come out extraordinarily amazing. I honestly love how you put all this realistic detail into your work, from the texture of different fabrics to the logos/stickers on the machinery (I also like the Pin-Up girl).

am i right in assuming this story kinda has a similarity to avatar?? human marines deployed onto a largely aquatic planet???

To be completely honest, here's the entire run down. About..hm, 4 years ago I came up with this concept afetr I watched The New World, about basically la futuristic version of Pocahontas. I drew up all these characters in a sketchbook, aliens, marines and wrote up an entire draft of the story. I then proceeded to write about 500 pages of the actual book and was really excited.
Then one morning my friend calls and he goes "DUDE, go online and go to [link] "
And I'm like "Why..?"
And he says "you'll see...your idea is being made into a movie"
So I go online, check it out and it says "James Cameroun announces Avatar, with a similiar story." Ever since then I've been turned off by the idea, but still had to get the visuals out of my head.
But Avatar doesn't take place on an aquatic planet, my friend is helping out on the music end of the movie and I showed him these to see if it was even close, he said far off from it. It takes place in a forest type of area (which you can see from leaked concepts), but still does involve a love relationship with human and alien.

MATE! thats a hearty effort for someone your age four years ago, and to be honest, nothing like that will ever be made in vein. but still it really depends on how the two stories match when its released i guess. who knows if they don't bear too much resemblence it could be the next story the world needs in a few years! do you have any other ideas for feature films that are as well developed btw?
I had a question if its not too derived, I just went to university to do a 5 year BA/MA/Hons in film, and i still want to work my way to being a good digital artist so i can get these insane ideas out of my head, am i dreaming? and would you be anywhere near where you are today if you attended university?

Great picture. I love your work, I'm not an artist so I don't have much to do with this site but every so often i check to see if you've made anymore pictures. Keep going I never get tired of your style.
Also, I'm interested to know how long one of these takes. You said three days, but does that mean you worked on it a few hours each of those three days or you did it over a longer period and all the hours add up to three complete days?
