Description First of all, I want to give thanks to D. Rushwarth for his wonderful and instructive texts and illustrations of various medieval types of armor and clothing.

I've been wondering of making an armor tutorial for quite some time now. Finally, it was my friend that made me pull the thumbs out and do it^^ I hope it can proove useful to you all, who's planning of designing armor but feels that it would be nice with some theoretical studied first.

I learned alot myself, makin this tutorial. And i will probably make more of them, since it's called "part 1"^^

The next tutorial will be about thin leather armor and leather combinations!

Thanks for taking a look^^

..and thanks

Oh yeah padding is vital, specially on mail armor since mail itself doesnt offer good protection for impacts, and if a soldier cannot afford metal armor the padding itself can offer good protection, but in that case wielding a shield is also important(if im not mistaken shields fell in favor only when armor became too good, like full plate).

I think that a brigandine style armor could be quite interesting, however you will need to explain that it's not studded leather armor.

Awwww thanks alot for this :3 even though in my story there will never be armor this one might be very useful nontheless. I didn't think there'd be other anthro artist out there so interested in medieval ressources, especially this level of accuracy, since i've encountered that medieval fans in my region usualy frown upon anthro or cartoony art :<

Aaaaaaaaaaww^^ I'm glad that it comes to some use.
I've allways had an interest in the functions and astethics of armor and weapons. There's few things that i find more irritating than those sorts of plastic-fantasy armor like World of Warcraft ans such that never would be possible to carry in real life. Well, it's a matter of design I guess :3 I, for one, find it much easier to design a piece of armor out of practical use and defencive purpose.
I'm glad you liked it! :3 I will try to get more tutorials going when I get some organisation over my life x3..

Wow thank you so much^^
It's just to think: Ok I have this and this... Let's make the best I can of it^^! It's one of my favorite forms of armor due to it's flexibility, both in use and in design. Next up is leather armor^^
