Description I haven't drawn fan art for this series for about a year, but "The Zeta Project" has influenced my drawing style more than anything else. I really miss it. This series was taken off the air in August 2002, and its "finale" was really just a season finale that answered several questions, but raised even more new questions:

---------------------------------------- ---

Government Infiltration Unit Zeta and his "accomplice," Ro Rowen, had been on the run for over a year, attempting to avoid the government agents who wanted to capture and reprogram Zeta, turning him back into a weapon used to replace and destroy targeted individuals. At the same time, they were searching for Zeta's creator, the elusive Doctor Eli Selig, possibly the only person who would believe that the synthoid no longer wanted to kill.

Finally, while infiltrating the very terrorist organization believed to be responsible for Zeta's suspicious change of heart, Zee and Ro tracked Selig down to his floating laboratory, the Nosis. As he and Ro explored the lab where he had been created, they were approached by Eli Selig. While the scientist was unaware that he was speaking with his own creation, he explained what had really happened to Zeta, why the robot had chosen to disobey his own programming. And the government agent who had been following Zeta and Ro overheard everything.

The reunion didn't last long. The terrorist group Brothers' Day boarded the Nosis and set off explosives, intending to destroy Selig and his research. His assistant pulled him towards an escape pod, never hearing the synthoid shout "Doctor Selig! I'M Zeta!" And as his creator's escape pod left the Nosis, it was shot down by the leader of Brothers' Day.

Zeta's last chance for freedom was gone.

Wow. I lov the sky and the coloring. The extra detail makes Ro look older, too, less childlike. The anime touches kind of annoy me, though... personally I'm just tired of seeing it in /everything/ y'know?

This is one of my pics of yours! Zee and Ro's faces show so much emotions, so much sorrow! And I like the coloring. Especially the color of their eyes, the ocean. And it's interesting that the sun light is white. It's like a sunbeam of the hope through this dark sky of their troubles, isn't it? I just love this pic! And your story!

I remember that show. I was so pissed that they cancelled it. It was one of the few cartoons where I was actaully "dying" to know what all answers (usually I just don't care and look at the pretty pictures). Yes, that was a real shame *sad sigh*

Nice image, really like the shading and the eyes.

Thank you! There's a letter-writing campaign to Kids' WB, asking them to bring this show back. If you want to get involved, you can find more information at [link]

It wasn't an anime, but one of the few American cartoons I've been obsessed with. (Actually, this is the cartoon that got me interested in animation in the first place.) The plot and second season animation was slightly anime-like, though.
I wish Warner Brothers would release TZP on DVD. x.x They treated this series so horribly...
