eh i dont like film grain that much. I actually went to a lot of trouble to get rid of the grain (cuz there was quite a bit)
then again in digital its always crappy noise not grain =\

yeah cliche - always wanted one of these shots.
turned out to be one of my most popular shots tho. Cliche - or hurray?

this is what i was talking about when i mentioned the luminance. the sky is absolutely alive with this glowing vibrance-- better than I've seen in almost any work ever.
the greyscale here is very reminiscent of ansel adams and as a fan of the brilliant motion in his work i don't use that comparison lightly.
This warrants a watch for the lovely contrast. the solitude of the tree is stirring, i am actually taken by the way those branches dance so delicately against that spunsugar sky that you have so skillfully rendered.
oh man oh man.

ahh thank you - actually mentioning fundamentals of composition - something most people lack! amazing how many people join DA knowing nothing and leaving with nothing.

ill let you in on a secret - took me about 2 hours of editing and re-editing to get it just perfect. I have a batch of filters and enhancement techniques that ive been trying out on my images and its looking very promising.
thank you for the many many kind messages of support. it is much appreciated!
ill tell you this though - with my new wacom ive been hand-enhancing some of my photos which is making a huge difference.

theres this tree in a middle of a field on the way to kristins it kinda reminds me of that..
i can never get over how tree branches look like hands reaching up for something greater. something we can't have

heh you're welcome, I'd have to agree that critiques are better; it's hard to improve when people don't tell you what's wrong . . .
