Description Albatrion... The first word of which doesn't have a direct english translation. But it refers to an Emperor who is so high ranking that the mere sight of them instills awe and possibly fear in your very soul. For those of you who frequent the Monster Hunter Wikia and see the name translated as "Glittering Black Dragon," this isn't entirely wrong, as part of the Extremely high rank, the Emperor referred to by this word also would have a Godly sort of aura about them to instill that awe and fear i mentioned... Probably something to do with being adorned with plenty of Red and Gold... I dont know, it's difficult to explain ><.

I shall tranlate it as "Extremely-high-ranking-Emperor Black Dragon"

As I like to Blademaster Albatrion most of the time, the Dragon claw attack gets me everytime single time ><

Albatrion/ Alatreon, the lil hunter with Rathalos equipment and Monster Hunter stuff in general, belongs to Capcom

I play the games and draw these well before the english so i use the Japanese names in most cases, then forget to change the names once the english is shown ><

why they didn't keep the japanese names, "albatrion" sounds more badass than "alatreon"

Some of the japanese names don't translate very well - Urukususu is pretty wierd to call Lagoombi which suits it more since Lagomorph is the scientific taxonomy which rabbits belong to. Though some localisations are deplorable - Volganos becoming "Lava-sioth" for example. I have a translation list in my MH gallery for the 3rd gen monsters' japanese and chinese names, do bare in mind that no English release for the game had been anounced at the time i submitted it though, so most are referred to by their japanese name.

I got into Monster Hunter games when Freedom 1 was out and have been following it since with Freedom 2, then moving to the japanese versions from 2G, almost 2 years before Unite's release. At the moment, i'm playing 3G/U in Japanese on my 3DS and English version on WiiU (For online).

I'm Blademaster since the first MH game and I was so proud when I was able to block or evade one of Ala's Attacks. Especially the Dragon claw, but it was always like: "OMG! I DID IT! :'D"
And the got hit x'D
However I love him, even with the knowledge that he's a Noob-Magnet (In Tri, that is). Also your picture, this pose is so innocent and kitty-like.

There was a certain Joe event that was also a noob magnet >< At lest in 3rd i can solo him without worry

I use all sorts of weapons though Blademaster is the main way that i go, Stubbornly sticking to SnS in the first Freedom game, then Greatswords in Freedom 2/ Portable 2G, in Tri and 3rd, i went to Hammer and Lance and now in 3G, my main weapns are XD GUNLACE!!

I did visit the wiki for reference pictures of Alba and noticed the translation of it's name as mentioned in the description. I can sorta read the text so i know that the translation isn't quite accurate as explained.

I speak the language since my family are chinese, but i never properly learnt to read it and have been learning it myself. However, once i hear the pronounciation, i'll know what it means . For each of my Chibi/creepy MH pics, i've translated the names of monsters as accurately as i could. The Wikia, i suspect just used Google translate

Eeeyup My family moved to England before i was born but since hteir english wasn't great, they taught me to speak chinese-Cantonese as well so that i could comunicate with them properly XD English, i learnt at school and from my siblings.

I never learnt how to read it though, so i've been trying to learn that myself over the last few years. I'm now able to play Monster Hunter while understanding all but the story elements as the Japanese use Chinese characters in adition to their own scripts.

I also find it fun to translate the titles of the monsters because that becomes lost in english versions- While we would have to hunt Rathalos for "Rathalos Scales", in the japanese version, we hunt "Rio Reus" for "Fire Dragon scales"

I might do just a big sheet of translations for every monster instead of people having to wait for me to chibi one XD

Yup, Lao Shan Lung is actually the chinese (Both manderin and cantonese) pronounciation, literally meaning "Old mountain dragon". i assume Japanese pronounciation of the Kanji would be different but they do write it as "Rao Shan Ron" in Japanese Katakana.

Hmmm... I thought we did have distinguishable "L" and "R" sounds but i can't think of any "R" words XD Only the use of "L".

Kanji is the japanese name for Chinese script. They're the more complicated word symbols that mean stuff, kinda the equivitent to our english words. Japan also has two phonetic scripts which are symbols that represent a sound, these are Hiragana-used mostly for grammatical purposes, and Katakana- mostly for speaking specific words like english words or onomatopaeic words.

yep they changed all names some names i like in english and outher i preffer in japanese, for exmaple nargacuga (english) but i like naruga kuruga(japansese ^^)
some i preffer english/chinese lao shan lung and kushala daora
