New Horus Heresy campaign book is out, with it come the shattered legions and Blackshield marines! Β It's a great excuse to go a bit nuts with making up your own warband of war-torn marines, with it's own weird allegiances and weaponry, reminding me of the old days of 40k where things seemed a bit more crazy.Related content

Honestly, the fact that Blackshields can be of any legion, fighting for and against any side, for any reason, makes them (in my opinion) one of the most appealing factions for homebrew players. There's creative freedom there that's kinda hard to find with the other 30k factions, almost all of which are pretty well defined.

Yeah it really is a wonderful idea. I was thinking a mix of World Eaters and Imperial Fists for my warband. I think you can even arm them with lasguns/autoguns? Totally retro.
