Hey ya go folks! Nothing too complicated, just a tip I wanted to share with you all on how to spruce up a hint on your next drawing.

I really like this guide. It's simple enough for casual artists to grasp, yet deeply significant on providing tips to give their work a sense of focus and harmony just by changing a few lines. It's amazing how the direction of someone's gaze can affect the overall impact of the piece. Submissions that showcase your eduction are among your best work, IMO.

Great tutorial, and some well laid-out tips on how to fix things that could trip a learning artist up.
I would like to add though, that by colouring Jack Rabbit yellow, you did put more focus on him via use of colour rather than use of placement and shape, which may or may not have worked against the point you were trying to make. That is the tricky thing about composition - things like light placement (and shadows by extension) factor in as well.

Wow, it's a nice tip! There's some details I really didn't notice until you showed them, and when you notice them, you realize that they really make your eyes look to the focal point(the shelf really surprised me). I'll try to use this tip on my next drawings, thanks for posting it!

I love how the mouth literally forms an arrow pointing at the focus of Jack, but I wouldn't have noticed it without the detail inset.

just my personal opinion, but viewing the art from my perspective, i didn't think any of those changes were necessary. i guess i when viewing other people's artwork i prefer something interesting to something this , analytic...

First off, congrats! Second, I'm not the best with backgrounds, so I'm not as familiar with composition as you are. However, looking back on an uncompleted drawing before my computer died, the composition was wither poor/nowhere to be found. Whenever I redo that drawing, I'll be sure to follow this.

This is amazingly helpful. Thank you for posting! As someone who's only recently begun to attempt backgrounds and the like, I have to force myself to focus on the picture's real subject. This truly came at just the right time.

Most people fail to realize that, which means, it has no effect on them until they do.

the point is. Opening their eyes has no meaning because they didn't cared anyway, so the drawing wasn't less good before they find out this awesome fact..
