Description Some shenanigans with wire wool.
It was a long night of drizzle, heavy equipment and lying on gravel until midnight, but the results were very much worth it.

This is awesome! How did you do it?

My friend waved the wire wool around like a madman and I shot it at a 10-second exposure. I then dropped the temperature of the whole photo to give it the blue effect.

Clever. So the wire wool was lit up somehow?

Yup! A big clump of it was wrapped around a whisk, which was attached to a chain. After using a lighter to set fire to the wool, the end of the chain was used to swing the wool and whisk around and create the effect. Very dangerous, so you need safety googles on at all times as the sparks fly everywhere. I was 50 metres away from one shot and one very nearly hit my camera!

Just thought I should say you can use a 9 volt battery (the rectangular one for an RC controller) to ignite the wool its allot easier you should try it.

This is a great photo too.
