Description 100 Pictures Challenge #46: Family.

Sometime ago, thanks to a certain person we know who got me the Lego Indy original adventures game in the mistaken belief that we could play co-op, I went on a frenetic Indiana Jones games/series/movies spree. And in the middle of that insanity, I decided for Force knows what reason that a vintage-y Old Western painting of Jones Sr and Jr would be a great idea. (Because Last Crusade has rather a Old Western feel to it anyway). And as further proof of my temporary insanity, I decided I wanted it to look distinctly painted, *and* I wanted to do it on - Corel Painter 9. [My hate relationship with which has already been explored in great, choleric, detail.]

Predictably, five minutes into the painting, I rage-quit over my inability to locate ANY of the right controls, switched to Corel PhotoPaint... only to discover that I couldn't get the right amount of free-flowing painty-ness with it (because you know how it is with me, CPP and detail-riddled photorealism), and so switched back to Painter... and then rage-quit again five minutes later because all the hot keys were different and I couldn't adjust brush size with my mouse, and went back to CPP... and hated how plastic it looked... etc... etc like a goddamn Chinese ping pong match. Until I finally decided to put my foot down, grit my teeth and just soldier on because if I was stupid enough to bring it upon myself, I might as well finish the job. [Though I wound up ditching it to start Love Endures - and only recently excavated it from my HD and resumed work on it.]

So eh, anyway, I'm tired of putzing with it and fixing every stray pixel I find; I suppose it's a small miracle in itself that I actually *did* finish it. (My beta didn't think I would).

Drawn with Caran d'Ache (Pablo) Vandyck brown pencil, painted with Corel Painter 9. Linework here: [link]

[The whip originally transformed into a snake halfway, but I decided it had no relevance to the picture and removed it. Ditto the bloody streaks on Indy's face, which came out looking like some kind of weird sideburn/hairstyle when I painted it.]

Indiana Jones created by George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.

But probably not archaeology Indy's way? [Running around tombs and temples and escaping various nefarious traps and equally nefarious persons.... probably more fun that sifting through ancient pottery shards.]

Yes, THAT is entirely acceptable.

Not going to get all flowery in the comments, as I get that you hate that. I will instead say that this makes me happy and it is a welcome addition to my workday.

Also, points for "choleric."

ROFL! "Choler" is all Stephen Maturin's fault.

And thanks very much, Sassy.
