Description
This is the line art for a Hellboy contest entry. I'm currently coloring this one up, but I wanted to post the line art since I'm really happy with the way it turned out!
My take on Mike Mignola's awesome creation, Hellboy! Like Sin City, a subject I've really wanted to draw for a long time! I went with a more "animated" style for this one too, I think it looks pretty good!
Should have the color version up next week, then this will move to the scraps. Enjoy it while it's here!

Thank you so much!!! Yeah, I wasn't sure if I made the right call, the comic legs are a bit tricky! I think it turned out pretty good though. I also posted the color version up, hope you check that one out as well!

Oh the movie was totally like the comic! So good! I soooo recommend picking up a trade paperback or two, very cool art and storylines!

i love kronen, hes the best villan to come out of ANYTHING i mean come on, nazi, robot, zombie, demon thing powered by sand with THOSE knives not like other knives but THOSE ONES!!
i have an awesome toy of him, its the one in his nazi outfit with the the trench coat

Thanks! Yeah Kroenen was one of my favorite parts of that movie! I loved the scenes of him in the museum!

IT BE HELLBOY AND TEH KROENEN!! Dude, I love Kroenen. He's spiffy and awesome. Plus, he looks great in your animated style. The action here just goes 'KAPOW!' with a capital K. Love how big and bulky Hellboy looks compared to the sleek lethalness of the undead Nazi assasin. You rawk, like totally!

I noticed the hooved feet, too...now I wonder why they didn't do that in the movie. Oh well, Hellboy rawked anyhoos. XD

I've been watching some old Justice League again, so that's what probably influenced this style! Kroenen was so awesome in the movie, I couldn't get enough of his action! And RED, well he's the man, I had to make hime look good! I changed his feet to the comic book version to stay true to Mignola, and I wish I would have added one more spiral to the hand of doom. I like it so far though!

I inked right over my non-photo blue pencils, just decided to go for it since I'm running out of time to get this in!
Oh man, that would be awesome! I know whatever you would color would turn out spectacular! I would owe you big time! Maybe a Jinzo, Jack and Chase pic?! I'm not above offering bribes!

Thank you! I'm still trying to find inking pens that I like. I need to invest in some refillable ones though, the Micron ones I use run out waaaay too fast on me!
