Oh, I meant re-doing it as a new deviation, for the sake of re-drawing something and seeing if I got any better.

I have a request for you regarding the "large" downloadable version of the image.
You've made it 1600 pixels wide, and that's big, but... The shorter edge is just 700 pixels which... isn't much. When I try to set it as a wallpaper on my laptop it gets stretched and there's quite a lot of quality loss. So, I would like to request some sort of the crop for a 1440x900 resolution, or even better - 1920x1080, if only possible. I absolutely love the image. Cheers!

This is a cute piece. There are only a few things that I wish to point out.
1. The image seems really zoomed out, so its hard to focus on the character, my eyes are going all over the place.
2. I wish there would be more details
3. Her leg looks off, twisted at an odd angle
4. I like and hate the fact that her wings look like wisps
5. Lovely work on the background, I love how soft the image looks.

Overall, the concept is great. the background is very nice, but i feel like this lacks in emotion a bit. perhaps more work on the background could have made it better. also i think you need to work on your anatomy a bit more, save your ideas but just work on drawing some more people and poses. hope this helps.

Your art is getting stronger.
The amount of details you're adding makes a
more dimensional character.
I feel that you need to loosen up a bit
in the preliminary stages of your art.
This pose in particular comes off a bit stiff,
as if you didn't push far enough.
The scene appears dramatic, yet the character
looks bored as she lazily lifts her arm.
You're getting so much better with coloring and
layout, but go back to basics and push
those poses as much as possible!

It's alright, but there are a couple of issues. For one, the image is very zoomed out, so it's hard to actually make out many details.
But the main issue I see here is that it's very typical of most of your work. Young women, long hair, billowy clothes, some theme which reflects mystical magicalness or whatever. For what it is, it's not bad, but you need to diversify a bit, because if you keep drawing stuff like this, you're going to stagnate.
There's a website called Posemaniacs which may be of use to you. Check it out sometime. I'd also recommend you study up on perspective, or, if you're already experienced and knowledgeable on it, start applying it heavily in your drawings. Draw older women instead of young ones. Draw men. Shorter hair. More gritty environments. Whatever you do, try and break some of your habits. It'll do you some good, even if it's tricky at first.
Best of luck.

I remember you saying before that "stagnation is death", and, now that you mention it, I have been keeping the same general theme across all of my deviations posted here. I tend to use this theme or setting because I always want to make a scene that is somehow "grand", in that I want to draw something somehow above normal life, fantastic in it's own right. Thinking about it, though, I do abuse a few personal cleches, and I thank you for pointing that out.
Posemaniacs is something that I've been directed to before, and used a bit, but never quite got into it. I see it almost as if I'm using reference, and I like to draw things entirely from my own mind, without reference. Perhaps this is also a habit that I should break?
In any case, I think I'll try to draw a scene in my next deviation that breaks some of my cleches while still retaining that "above normal life" feeling that I like to send.
Thanks for your continuing critique.

Drawing from your own mind is indeed a good skill, but the problem is when you try and draw something from your own mind, but you don't know how. For this, you need references, not even necessarily to copy directly from, but rather to give you a better mental understanding. Learning tools and such. Don't be afraid of using references; The best artists I know use them.
More than the overarching theme, try varying your subjects. If you don't, you might find yourself in three years only knowing how to draw young girls. I was in a similar situation myself.. ugh. But that's a story for another day.
A nice young woman recently made me realize that, even when desiring to learn and improve, one should always remember to enjoy the artistic process, even if it means learning slightly slower than you would normally. Don't rush things.
Have fun!

I love your coloring, as always. In fact I probably worship it.
One thing you might want to improve on is the detail in your characters' faces and expressions. I think it would really bring your work to life. <3
