Felt like drawing something a bit loose, so I dug up a charcoal pencil and drew whatever came to mind, and this is what came out. I like how it shows three of the elements, all in black and white. Clouds are hard to draw in grayscale.I'm not sure what the mood is for this picture. I just wanted something high-contrasty, because of the nature of the medium, and something that makes you feel something, even if you don't know what exactly.
Because that's probably a perfect explanation of the way I've been feeling lately. I've been feeling something but I'm not quite sure what. Uncertainty? Longing? Contentment? Defeat? Love? Hopeful? Lonely?
I honestly don't know.

I can see a mix of emotions here - a taste o freedom, longing, contemplation, the need to go on a journey (both the horse and the water indicate the last thing, atleast for me), the need to find one's place in the world, and... Being close to nature, and being happy because of it, some uncertainty (the sky looks kind of stormy, which gives this work an air of discomfort, a slight fear).
Wonderful picture, I think that you managed to capture your feelings in this one, and I admit I really like your shading.

Well, if you look at it, it doesn't actually look like a horse. It's a blob with sticks for legs and a head.

I love it! The background is so beautiful, and the horse looks like it's just going to walk off the page! I love the powerful emotion in it too...even if I can't quite figure out what it is.

beautiful!! I think you did achieve the contrast, with the light sky behind the horse especially. i love the curve of the sky and the clouds. i think the mood is like the title-- contemplative, thoughtful.
