a new model, stacy. this piece is obviously selectively desaturated. this is at the finch arboretum, the most stereotypical location for senior pictures in spokane, wa. at any given time, you SHOULD be able to see at LEAST a couple portrait photographers shooting here. sick.. anyway, the harmony of the pinks here between the leaves and my model's sweatshirt were too amazing to pass up, so i decided to bring them out to their extremes. hope you like my creation.*daveainley

Well, contrary to what you're probably thinking, I did NOT individually paint in every leaf (or even desaturate all the grass, for that matter!). I found an amazing shortcut in reducing the saturation levels in every shade but that of the sweatshirt and leaves, and then desaturated her face, since some of the pink had reflected onto it from her hoody. It was a LOT quicker than the alternative. HOWEVER, this photo --> [link] WAS done that way!

Oooooh awsome shot! It reminds me of that movie... erm... Pleasantville I think... where this guy who played Spider Man and this girl played by that girl from Legally Blonde (I'm so bad with names, can't cha tell?) go through a tv into this black and white show. And slowly the world begins to turn colourful. It's such a wicked awsome movie...
But yea. It's totally cool. Did you edit her shirt to match the pink of the leaves or is that the actual colours?

these are all natural colors. you're talking about tobey maguire and reese witherspoon. also appearing in that AMAZING movie were don knotts, jeff daniels, william h. macy (is a GOD!), the kid from the fast and the furious, and some chick with an annoying lazy eye

I REALLY liked this peice because I LOVE when people play with b&w as well as color in the same shot. The fact that she's adorable doesn't hurt anything either!

There's some purple on the tree branch above her head. Not sure if it's on purpose or an accident but I would say get rid of it, it's not noticable enough to be there so I see no reason for it(and it's purple...not a nifty pink like everything else)
